Received a rather dubious call claiming to be from HMRC, the automation on the other end insisted that I had outstanding tax obligations and that a serious legal matter was looming over me. Naturally, my curiosity got the better of me, so I pressed the button to speak to a representative. An Indian gentleman pick up, introducing himself as "Mike" - that was my first red flag. When he threatened to send the authorities after me for unpaid taxes, I couldn’t help but chuckle; my own father happens to be in the police force! I cheekily offered to let him have a word with my old man standing right next to me. He promptly disconnected the call! Absolute nonsense! Beware of these scammers!
