The person called saying they wanted to recruit folks to join a survey panel about the South Downs National Park. When I asked, he gave his name and said he worked for Walnut Unlimited doing the research. He mentioned a website for the National Park that had 'icm' in the address, but when I checked, the site was down. He said he’d ring back tomorrow afternoon to follow up. There wasn’t a proper explanation of how they got our phone number, which is supposed to be ex-directory.

They’ve been really desperate to get hold of me, ringing daily (sometimes twice a day) for the last week. I phoned their number about 9.30pm on Tuesday and got a recorded message saying the line wasn’t active. Funny though, when they ring me, they never leave a message on my voicemail.

Got a call asking for someone who doesn’t actually work here but supposedly is a non-exec director. I tried to be helpful (bit of a hero, I guess) but they said they needed to talk to A MANAGER. Clearly some kind of phishing scam, so I told them our MD wouldn’t be taking their call. Going to block the number now because I’ve got real work to do and can’t be bothered with rubbish like this.

Someone named "Sabrina" from a place called "GFK" rang my old landline here in the Isle of Man, claiming to conduct a survey about my "banking experiences on the island". When I asked, she explained "GFK" meant "Growth FOR Knowledge". Actually, the real GFK stands for Growth FROM Knowledge, which is a research firm, but I doubt they're linked to this kind of random survey. Best steer clear. Don’t share any info, not even your name. Seriously, how are they even getting hold of these phone numbers?

Today, 29/11/17, IOM Police 01624-631212 have had reports from people about calls claiming to be from IOM Bank doing a survey - this is rubbish and if you get one, just hang up straight away.

I live in Guernsey and I’m on the TPS, but this number has been ringing me every day for about a week - they ring three times and then hang up. I finally picked up tonight and the woman said, “Hi, this isn’t a sales call, I’m Suzanne from XXX doing a quick banking survey.” I can’t quite recall if she said GKB or GBK or something along those lines. I was just thinking to myself how she says it’s not a sales call, but it’s obviously one. Fingers crossed they stop bothering me now that I actually answered!

"GFK" has been ringing me at home for about a week now. Most times, no one answers when they call. Today I finally got through and the woman on the line sounded real dodgy, trying to rush me by saying she's from GFK and it’s just a survey, not a sales pitch.
