This is definitely a scam, no doubt about it. Who in their right mind would bother to respond and claim it’s legit? Total rubbish. Sounds like just another con from some dodgy character. Stay well clear, it’s 100% a scam, no exceptions.

I've been getting constant calls from this number. Whenever I answer, it's some automated voice telling me to press different keys. Just now, they even sent me a text saying they've tried calling and I should get in touch with them! The caller always mentions HSBC or something. Really fed up with it all.

I phoned the real HSBC helpline to double-check, and they told me they hadn’t tried getting in touch with me at all lately. So yeah, this is definitely not from HSBC. Please don’t share any details with these folks - it’s a total scam.

Got a call saying they were from HSBC debt recovery, but then they started asking for my sort code, account number, date of birth and even my security answers. Definitely not HSBC! Seems like they're just trying to steal your details to empty your account and trap you in debt. Watch out, total scam!

I've had this number incessantly calling me, every three-quarters of an hour, it's absolutely maddening! I popped into my local HSBC branch for some advice, and they assured me it's a scam. Apparently, legitimate banks communicate via letters, not incessant phone calls!

I received a rather unpleasant phone call that was allegedly from HSBC, purportedly coming from their call centre in the Philippines. The caller was quite persistent and immediately requested my postcode, account number, and sort code! When I pointed out that this felt like a scam, the lady just kept on asking me for information-she even inquired about my house number and street name! It was obvious she was attempting to gather my personal details. Eventually, after about five minutes of this back-and-forth, she just hung up on me. Absolutely appalling behaviour!

I got a call from someone claiming to be from HSBC customer support, but it turned out to be a scam. HSBC only uses two phone numbers, and the one called wasn’t on the list. Make sure you don’t share your bank info with anyone on the phone unless you’re certain it’s legit.

SCAM ALERT! After ignoring about half a dozen calls from this number, I finally answered, and they wasted no time asking for my bank details like card number and sort code. They try to convince you to ring HSBC or visit the bank in person to check if they’re legit, but it's all a trick to make you drop your guard and hand over sensitive information. Don’t fall for it! Those positive comments you see are probably left by the scammers themselves or by people who haven’t realised it’s a con yet. No genuine bank ever asks directly for your account info like that!

This isn't an HSBC number at all. I got a call from them, but since I didn't pick up, they followed up with a text claiming to be from HSBC and urged me to ring them back. I decided to reach out to my actual bank, and they assured me it wasn't legitimate. Definitely a scam, that one!

BEWARE, IT'S A SCAM! NEVER SHARE YOUR INFO! I rang the official number from HSBC’s site to check on this caller, and they told me it’s not theirs and they aren’t contacting anyone from that number. This isn’t the first time this number has tried to trick me. For anyone claiming it’s HSBC calling, you’ve probably just handed your info over to fraudsters.

So it was HSBC ringing me up because a direct debit on my credit card didn’t go through. They were chatting about sorting out the payment. I’m gonna ring them back on Friday since they were pretty understanding. Honestly, I dread calling banks because my money situation’s a bit all over the place. They had all my info, like who I work for and everything. Definitely not a scam. If they’re phoning, it’s usually because you’ve got some money owing to them.
HSBC

Honestly, don’t listen to anyone claiming this is a legit HSBC number. I’ve checked and it’s definitely scammers. They go after bank accounts with a certain balance, tricking you into pressing 1 to “verify” yourself. Then you get put through to a call centre where an actual person knows your name and some info. After that, they ask for more personal details to “verify your identity” and basically use that info to get into your online banking. If you get a call from an automated message like this, just hang up and don’t press 1 under any circumstances!

I’ve been receiving a barrage of calls from this number, insisting that I owe money. But here's the kicker - it only seems to happen on payday, right after I've sorted my overdraft. Quite the coincidence, wouldn’t you say? I decided to ring up the secure line, and they assured me that no one was attempting to reach out to me. It’s all very perplexing!

It's got to be HSBC, they somehow had access to my account balance, knew the stopped direct debit details and even the firm that handles my salary. All these bad reviews don’t really help. If you're unsure, just give HSBC collections a ring straight from their official site. I will say, getting that many calls from this number in just one afternoon is totally over the top though.

This isn’t a scam at all, it’s actually the HSBC Collections team ringing. If you’ve missed a payment, gone into your overdraft or owe them money for any reason, they’ll get in touch. Best thing to do is not ignore it - just ring up HSBC’s main number or pop into a branch and sort it out. Once you do, the calls should stop.

This number kept ringing me non-stop, like 21 times in just one week, and I got loads of texts too, around 7 of them! I’m pretty sure it ain't from HSBC. I actually rang HSBC up and they said they never called me. To be safe, they switched all my card info to stop any dodgy stuff happening.

I received a rather suspicious phone call that I chose not to answer. Out of sheer curiosity, I decided to look up the number on this site and returned the call. Upon getting through to a person, they requested my sort code and account details, which I firmly declined to provide. The individual suggested I reach out to the number on the reverse of my card, acknowledging my reluctance to share personal information. So, I dialled that number and recounted the entire incident. After putting me on hold for a bit, they told me that no calls had come from their end, even before I shared the number in question. Once I provided it, I insisted they verify whether it was associated with their organisation. Yet again, I found myself on hold. Ultimately, I was connected with an agent who verified that the calling number was certainly not theirs, recommending I block it immediately. Please, do not fall for this trick!

I just received a rather dubious call purporting to be from HSBC, and I must say, they were impressively convincing. The automated voice was spot on-had I not known for certain that my bank typically doesn’t phone me, I might well have been taken in. When the robotic voice requested my account information, I promptly ended the call. A quick ring to my usual HSBC number confirmed that they hadn’t made any attempts to reach me at all! I've received calls from them each time I've exceeded my overdraft limit, but this has only been happening for the last couple of months. Beware of a call from 0345 250 0612 - it’s a scam! I got an automated voice asking for me personally and then started to run through some options. Don’t be fooled, this isn’t from HSBC at all. I rang the bank directly on their official number and they said they never reached out to me. Stay safe!

I got a call from someone claiming to be from HSBC, saying they had all my info. However, as soon as I challenged them to name two direct debits I have, they suddenly didn’t know anything. Bit strange coming from my own bank! I’ve saved the number under "HSBC Con". Next time they ring, I’m gonna answer pretending I’m a police officer like I did before. They ended up apologising for dialing the wrong number - what a waste of my time!

I too received a call purporting to be from HSBC, requesting my account and sort code details. I declined and told them I would contact the official HSBC number instead. After speaking with them directly, they confirmed that no one from the bank had attempted to reach me. Clearly, it was a fraudulent call. They’ve attempted to ring me three more times since then, but I’ve chosen to disregard each one. My advice? Always be cautious and never divulge your personal information unless you’re absolutely certain of who you’re speaking to.

There were three calls from an unknown number within the past hour, and I chose not to pick up any of them. Instead, I came straight here to see if anyone else had left any feedback. When I logged into my HSBC account, I noticed I'd gone £20 over my overdraft limit, so it’s probably the bank’s debt recovery team ringing me. I generally avoid answering calls from numbers I don’t recognise, so I have no clue what they’re asking for during those calls, but I’d never share any of my account info regardless.

HSBC always sends you a letter beforehand if they're going to give you a ring, or if you've asked for a call. So if you get one out of the blue, it's defo a scam - best not to reply to it.

Got a call earlier claiming to be from HSBC. I've banked with them for ages and never had any calls like this before. It was all automated and sounded a bit dodgy. When they asked about moving money, I just ended the call. Seems odd - wouldn’t they normally send a letter or something first? Not sure if it was legit at all.

We use HSBC for our banking, but the caller immediately asked for our credit card details, which we dont even have with them! Watch out, this definitely isnt HSBC - total scam!

Got a robo call saying it was from HSBC. I didn’t even bother, just ended the call and rang HSBC myself. They told me that they’re definitely not using this number and they don’t do any automated calls like that. Total scam, so just block the number and don’t answer.

I checked with HSBC and they said they wouldn’t be ringing you every day. Usually, they’ll call a couple of times with some days gap, then send a letter or an email afterwards. So definitely don’t pick up if this number calls you. It’s not really HSBC.

This has to be a total scam. Got calls 12 times last week from this number and when I rang HSBC to check, turns out it wasn’t them at all. They really do a good job sounding legit though!

Don’t trust this number, it’s a total scam. If you have any debts with HSBC, they won’t be ringing from this. Best to contact HSBC straight away yourself and ask if they’ve tried calling. Never share your info with this caller.

I've been getting loads of phone calls nonstop. Just to be clear, it's definitely NOT HSBC ringing me. The bank itself told me they haven't made any calls like this. Be careful if you get one, following their instructions could be risky. Total scam alert!!!

I've got an overdraft with HSBC right now and I'm waiting till the end of the month to get paid. Can't really do anything else at the moment. They just need to hang on like everyone else does.

So it’s actually HSBC’s debt recovery team calling, not some dodgy scam. If you’ve gotten a call like this, do you have an account with HSBC? Maybe an overdraft or bills unpaid? Just to be clear, I’m not some scammer - I’m real, just someone who’s gone way over their HSBC overdraft limit and now getting these calls myself.

I received a call from this number that seemed to be automated. They had detailed knowledge of my bank balance and even my overdraft situation. Initially, I assumed it was legitimate and ended up sharing my number. What a blunder!

For sure, this isn’t HSBC. I’ve gotten calls from this number for a couple of weeks now. I rang HSBC myself and they said they don’t make calls from this number. The worst they’d ask for is just your postcode, but this number is asking for security info, which is a big red flag. Anyone claiming it’s actually HSBC might be involved in the scam!

Got a call at 9:15 in the morning on a Wednesday while I was at work. I didn’t pick up since I never pick up phones from numbers I don’t know. I happen to be with HSBC, so if this was some kind of scam targeting HSBC customers, I’m relieved I ignored it!

Got a voicemail from someone sounding exactly like a woman from HSBC, complete with hold music and all that. When she started asking for my account details, I instantly realised it was a con. Honestly, don’t trust anything you get over the phone or online - if you’re unsure, just ring your local branch directly.

I received a call yesterday from this number, and let me tell you, the automated voice sounded incredibly genuine. However, I decided it was best to hang up and reach out to HSBC directly. They reassured me that there had been no attempts to contact me, and when I provided them with the number in question, they categorically stated it wasn't linked to them. To add to the intrigue, I received another call today along with a very plausible text urging me to return the call. Naturally, I contacted HSBC once more to verify my concerns, and yet again, they confirmed it wasn't from their end. I even managed to get in touch with the fraud team, who echoed the same caution-this number is not legitimate. It appears that nobody had any reason to get in touch with me at all. In summary, this is an EXTREMELY convincing scam, so I strongly advise against responding to this number!

This number is linked to HSBC. I never gave them my date of birth or any personal info (they’re always warning against that!). I checked my online banking and found out a payment I was expecting hadn’t arrived, which caused my account to go into overdraft when the outgoing payment went through. If you’re worried, I’d recommend logging into your bank account to look for anything unusual or ring them back using a verified number.

I checked with HSBC, and they told me this number isn’t one of theirs. They also said they’d never ask for things like your sort code or account details over the phone. So, I’m pretty sure this is just a scam call.

Just got a call that sounded off - the person asking for my date of birth didn’t sound anything like the usual HSBC voice I’m used to. Felt a bit dodgy, to be honest. Definitely not what I’d expect from a legit bank call. If you get something similar, best to be cautious.

Be really careful, these scammers are getting way more clever now! I nearly fell for this one because the call came from an 0345 number and even had the usual automated voice you’d expect from HSBC. They were asking for my bank details like sort code and account number, just like the bank normally would. But when I rang back and chose to speak to someone, I started to get wary. The connection was awful and they asked for my birthday, which felt off, so I decided to check online. The automated messages sound just like the real HSBC - it’s scary how convincing they can be!

Got a call today, but I didn’t answer so it went to voicemail. The person on the other end kept saying to choose option 1 or 2. When I didn’t reply, she kept insisting she was waiting for me to pick an option. I couldn’t even hang up properly, it was really annoying.
