The caller asked for me by name but didn’t say clearly who they were with, so I asked them again and they just ended the call. Reading the comments, I guess it was Direct Line likely ringing to check if I wanted to renew. I hardly ever pick up calls from numbers I don’t know, so I ignored it. Yeah, it’s definitely Directline. If any company’s showing how desperate they are, it’s these lot! About 10 minutes after I finished their online quote, they were already blowing up my phone. Sorry, "Johnny", but getting one quote from one company nowadays just isn’t how things work. And before anyone jumps in, I’ve done this job before and would never pester someone like I got hassled by DL today. I reckon this was a genuine call from Direct Line - we’ve recently been sorting out our home insurance renewal with them and also made a claim for a water leak under the home emergency cover. I rang the number back, and it showed as an outgoing call from Direct Line, plus they gave a different number if you want to speak directly to someone at Direct Line.
