Got a call from a guy speaking with a strong Indian accent asking to speak to the manager. After a bit, he handed me over to a lady, also with a thick Indian accent, who insisted I renew my E-On contract. I just told them to send any confirmation through the post and ended the call. They've now been blocked on my phone.

Got a call from a dodgy call centre abroad saying they were from EON, insisting they were my energy company. Thing is, EON isn’t even who I use for my energy, so it’s obviously a scam trying to trick me. Avoid those calls!

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent asking straight away for the manager. I had a feeling it was dodgy, so told him the manager was tied up in a meeting. Then he kept pressing, asking when the manager would be available, and I just said I honestly didn’t know. He started going on about how I should know everything happening in the office. I couldn’t help but chuckle and just ended the call - what a muppet!

Then he asked to speak to a manager, told the manager the same spiel about our contract ending with E-ON. We don’t even have any contract with E-ON, so it’s clearly a scam.

For the past few weeks, this number keeps ringing us up. The caller, who sounds Indian, says he’s from British Gas. You can barely hear over all the noise in the background. He’s really rude and has ended the call on us several times. What’s weird is he keeps mentioning the previous owners of the business, which has nothing to do with us.

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from e-on, said our business account was frozen and asked if I was the manager. I said I was and asked her to verify the business name and account number before I believed anything. She wouldn’t give me that info, which I figured was because the number she called from was just a normal home phone, not connected to the business at all. I’m pretty sure these kinda calls are meant to be against the law.

Loads of calls from this number and a few others pretending to be from e-on. I asked for some sort of password clue to make sure they were legit, but the guy said they didn’t have any password hint. I told him I wasn’t going to talk without proper ID and ended the call. They rang me back almost straight away after I hung up. Proper annoying and felt like harassment with how pushy they were.

Got calls from some guy saying he’s with EON about a contract renewal. He rang me 3 times back to back and got quite rude when my flatmate didn’t answer properly and just cut him off. I just told him to mail the details instead so I could end the call. So far, that’s stopped it, but honestly, these annoying calls have been coming every now and then for about three months now.

These people keep ringing nonstop pretending to be from Eon. They’ve used several numbers like 0345 4555441, 0345 6027466, 0208 2459473, and 0208 2266978 in the last couple of days. Whenever I hang up, they call back straight away. Yesterday alone, I reckon I got about 100 to 150 calls, and it’s still going on today - already had about 20 just this morning by half past ten. When I told them to stop, they said they’ll keep calling until I’ve read the terms and conditions. It’s beyond annoying, feels like proper harassment.

At first, they sound pretty polite, but the minute they start calling me “Ma’am” and there’s loads of noise in the background, I knew it was dodgy. If you push back on them, they can get quite snappy and rude. Definitely not a genuine call at all.

Had a chat with this caller for about ten minutes, just firing off loads of random questions. The bloke from India kept insisting he’d send a renewal letter, but I kept telling him I didn’t get what he was on about. Honestly, if you’ve got some spare time, it’s a good idea to keep asking loads of questions - it’ll eat up their time and hopefully stop them trying to hoodwink others who might actually fall for it.

I told them I’d prefer to wait until I actually got the letter but they kept pushing to talk immediately. Feels a bit dodgy if you ask me - like a scam trying to get info before I have anything official.

Somebody rang up saying they were from Eon, warning us our power would be switched off since our account had expired. They then tried to get my mobile number and other details. I told them the person they wanted wasn’t here and advised them to contact head office instead. Before ending the call, I passed on the phone number for Action Fraud. Fingers crossed they actually end up calling them!

Got a call from someone claiming to be with EON. When we couldn’t give them our account details, they started threatening to shut off our power. I don’t mind being contacted by energy suppliers or other sales reps honestly, but the aggressive tone and threats were a step too far. Really wish there was a way to record these calls and complain about that sort of attitude properly.
