Got an email telling me to ring a number about some fine for driving in a zone with a charge. There was no info about the car or where this supposedly happened. Thing is, I don’t even have a car! Honestly, it’s the sort of scam that could easily catch loads of people out, especially those who aren’t sure.

WARNING SCAM - IGNORE This came through as an email claiming to be from HM Courts & Tribunals via the Home Office, with a specific date and time mentioned. They didn’t include any picture of the car or say exactly where the supposed offence took place. It warns that if you don’t pay the fine, it’ll go up to £80. Just don’t get involved with these people.

Honestly, who calls a number claiming it’s for making a payment then suddenly says the number’s unreachable? It’s a bit weird. No info about the location or even a car registration, and calling about it at 4:30 on a Monday? I’m always in by then on a Monday, so that makes no sense to me.

Just got a dodgy call about supposedly driving in a congestion zone. They didn't mention any road details or even my car's reg number. There's no way to contact them either - all they want is for you to hit 'pay now' and enter your credit or debit card info. Sounds totally fishy to me.

Seems like one of those nasty scams to me. Got an email saying I've got a fine for congestion charge and if I don’t pay right away it jumps to £80. They want me to ring a number to pay using some ‘automated system’. I’m actually based in Cornwall so no way I’d been anywhere they say. Honestly, watch out. It looks pretty legit at first glance.
