I recently encountered a rather dubious character who attempted to swindle me out of my credit card information for a dining reservation I’d secured via OpenTable. They were aware of the restaurant’s name, my own name, and the specific date and time I’d booked. The caller claimed they required my card details to finalise the reservation due to high demand. I cleverly told them I’d return their call. After reaching out to the restaurant directly, I was informed it was indeed a scam. It seems several others were caught in this trap back on the 9th of April last year. Stay vigilant, folks!
