Just got a ring from someone claiming to be the Fraud Detection Team at Lloyds Bank about a purchase on my debit card. As soon as I began to ask some questions, the line went dead. Definitely a scam!

Got a few calls earlier claiming to be from Lloyds Bank. They called me by name and even mentioned the last four digits of my account, then started questioning me about some JD Sports purchases. It felt fishy because they kept asking loads of questions, so I said I suspected a scam and ended the call. I looked at my bank account afterwards and everything was fine, no money missing. Later, I went into a Lloyds branch and they told me straight up that it was a scam.

Got a call from someone claiming they were from the bank, saying there was suspicious activity on my account and they’d frozen the payments. They said they’d send a replacement card soon but needed to verify some security details first. Then they asked for my bank user ID, which I know the bank would never ask for over the phone. Pretty clear scam if you ask me.

Got a call from someone saying they were from the bank’s fraud team. They even had my address and birthdate, which freaked me out a bit.

Just got about three calls in quick succession from 0345 2000000. Didn’t pick up since the number seemed a bit odd and I didn't know who it was. Felt like it wasn’t a usual phone number to me.

Somebody called saying they were with Amazon Credit Card services (New Day) and seemed to know loads about my wife’s account. They kept trying to get a one-time passcode off us, which would’ve allowed them to make a dodgy crypto buy. We just ended the call straight away and told Amazon about it. Proper scam artists, these lot.

Some bloke called himself Clive Pearson. He claimed my account had been compromised and someone had made three purchases in Liverpool with my card. He pressured me into handing over my info, warning that if I didn’t do it, the cash would be taken from my account. Plus, he said I couldn’t ring back or the bank wouldn’t cover the losses, this was supposedly my one and only warning. Oddly, he knew my name and address but seemed clueless about anything else. ####

Just a heads up, this is a total scam. They send texts saying you’ll get a tax refund from HMRC, but it’s all fake. Don’t trust any of it, they’re just trying to trick you. The call is likely coming from India, probably Delhi, and they’re scammers for sure. If you fell for it, get in touch with your bank asap. Ask them to block your card or change your details right away. Also, better to freeze your account or move your money somewhere safe before they rob you.

Hey, watch out! These people will text you pretending to refund your HMRC tax, but it’s all fake. Don’t believe a word they say, it’s a total scam. The number looks like it’s from Delhi, India, and they’re just trying to trick you. If you think you’ve been caught out, ring your bank straight away and either get your card blocked or change your details. Better to be safe and move your money to another account if you can.

WATCH OUT, THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM. THEY PRETEND TO BE FROM THE FRAUD TEAM AT LLOYD'S, BUT THEY'RE NOT. I JUST CALLED LLOYD'S DIRECTLY AND THEY TOLD ME THE FRAUD DEPARTMENT RARELY, IF EVER, CALLS YOU FIRST. THE NUMBER THEY USE IS JUST ONE DIGIT OFF FROM THE REAL LLOYD'S NUMBER. BEST THING TO DO? HANG UP IMMEDIATELY AND RING LLOYD'S YOURSELF TO CHECK.

Yeah, this number is definitely dodgy. I got a call from it today and the person claimed I had money taken from my account. But I don’t even bank with Lloyds, it’s not my main bank or anything. The moment they mentioned Lloyds I straight away thought it’s a scam. Told them I’d just pop down to the bank myself the next day to check it out.

A number basically the same as Lloyd's Bank but with just one digit different turned out to be a fraud call. Sadly, I fell for it last year and ended up losing money! Avoid ringing back any missed calls that look like this or any number that’s close to the one on your debit or credit card. When unsure, always reach out to your bank using the exact phone number printed on the back of your card.

Definitely a con job claiming to be from Halifax Bank. I got caught out last week when I received a message pretending to be from Royal Mail and I entered my info. Then today I got a phone call telling me I'd been scammed and asking for more personal stuff. I quickly hung up and refused to share anything. Best to just ignore these calls.
