I always look up any missed calls I don’t recognise. Right now I’m sorting something with Southern Water but they say this number isn’t theirs. Don’t give out any account details, instead grab an old bill and ask them to verify your last meter reading, I’m willing to bet they won’t be able to. Apparently the same number was linked to BT before too. Best to steer clear of it.

I've been inundated with calls from this number, ringing me two or three times daily for the past few weeks. The caller insists he’s Tom from BT, trying to talk us through their packages. When I’ve requested for him to ring back at a more suitable time, he flatly refuses, claiming he’s not working then. Attempts to get him to email the package information are met with denial too. It’s clearly a scam! After his second attempt to disturb us today (and it’s barely lunchtime), we firmly told him to cease all communication. I doubt it will make a difference, but it certainly felt good to say it. I’ve flagged this number to Ofcom and I encourage others to do the same. If they receive enough complaints, perhaps they’ll take action and put a stop to this nuisance.

Someone called saying they were from BT, telling me my BT Sport subscription was about to run out or something. I got a call from someone called Kieran on Saturday 10/12/16, who said he was from BT. He seemed to know that my mum was the account holder so asked for her full name, the start of our address, postcode and my name too. Then he tried pushing BT Infinity really hard. When I told him I wasn’t interested, he just said “oh whatever” and hung up on me. I reported it to BT and they told me it was a fake call. He sounded pretty convincing though, so watch out and don’t get fooled. It was strange the number actually showed up since usually these scammers hide theirs.

Got a call from someone pretending to be BT saying our internet had been hacked and they needed to access our computer remotely to fix it. I asked for a proper contact number to call back, but they said it was urgent and the connection would be cut off in two hours if we didn’t cooperate. When I insisted on a real phone number, they gave me something based in Nottingham, but it’s marked as scam and definitely isn’t BT’s official number. It's rather frustrating this issue with BT outsourcing their call services, isn't it? We've received roughly four phone calls around the dinner hour, between six and half past. I managed to pick up three of them, but had to decline due to the circumstances at that hour. The fourth call went straight to voicemail, but annoyingly, the caller didn't leave any message. I received a call today around 16:50 from this number, and they asked for me by name, claiming that my 'BT broadband contract was nearing its end.' Given that my contract is currently active, I knew it was a load of rubbish. I didn’t disclose my identity but inquired who was on the other end. This number showed up on my caller ID around 5.27pm today (24/11/16). I didn’t pick up though, as I usually check odd numbers online before answering. After reading other folks’ reviews, it looks like a BT scam. It’s kinda ironic because I just renewed my BT line rental this morning. How do these scammers even get hold of such details? Feels like someone at BT might be leaking info. Anyway, added this number to my Panasonic home phone’s blocked list.

I've received a couple of calls from this number lately. The first time it rang was right when I was sorting out the details for my new BT modem. I ended up getting caught out and, before I knew it, I’d given away my name and address, only to discover it had nothing to do with my new installation! Then, about a week later, I got another call claiming to be from BT, trying to check if I was on the best deal. I told them that I'd recently taken care of everything. It's quite baffling how persistent they are!

I received a rather dubious phone call purportedly from BT. The gentleman on the line asserted he was reaching out from Sheffield regarding our complimentary BT Sport subscription linked to our broadband services. He went on about a so-called exclusive broadband deal, but our instincts kicked in, especially since we'd only just gotten a letter concerning our BT Sport account. We decided to hang up, but what really set alarm bells ringing was the fact that he knew our surname. It’s imperative that BT investigates this matter-his initial tone made him seem quite genuine and convincing.

This number has tried to ring me 3 times today. First couple of calls just ended with them hanging up. The third time I decided not to pick up. From what I understand, these silent calls happen because they use tech that pings your phone to check when someone’s actually there. That way, when a real telemarketer calls, they can tell there’s a good chance you’ll answer.

Picked up the phone and got a bloke who was proper pushy, wouldn’t accept when I told him I wasn’t interested in whatever he was selling or trying to get me to sign up for. He was quite nasty and seemed to want to rile me up, even when I said I was busy looking after my sick baby, he went on with “well the baby can wait” ???? which was just awful.

I wasn’t at my residence when the call came through earlier, but I managed to pick it up on my BT 1571 voicemail service. To my surprise, there was no message left-just utter silence. I always scrutinise the caller ID on my phone before picking up any incoming calls, and I’m also registered with the Telephone Preference Service, not to mention I utilise BT’s privacy features.
