Got a call from someone saying they were from Dual Energy about renewing my contract. It sounded dodgy straight away since I’m already with Dual, and it turned out they weren’t legit at all. Quite unsettling!

Got a call from some bloke pretending to be NPower, saying my contract needed renewing and they wanted to post me some papers. I had a moment to spare so quickly figured out it wasn’t legit. Had a good laugh messing with them, which I reckon they didn’t enjoy one bit. Ended it by suggesting their call was under surveillance by some agency, and they dropped it pretty sharpish. Honestly, whoever you are, ring me again - you’re way too predictable!

SCAM ALERT, SCAM ALERT! Just had a rather dodgy phone call from someone claiming to be from Scottish Power, insisting that my contract is due for renewal soon. They even said I’d verbally agreed to a new three-year deal! To my surprise, they already had most of my information. Knowing how these chancers operate, I fed them some incorrect details (as they clearly don’t possess all my info, they couldn't counter my claims). I’ve dealt with these persistent callers before, and they really know how to apply the pressure. After the call, I reached out to Scottish Power directly, and they confirmed that they don’t offer three-year contracts, making it clear it was a scam. From now on, I’ve resolved to avoid engaging with anyone over the phone. I'm going to verify any claims by reaching out only after they've identified who they represent.

I had the misfortune of encountering a con artist pretending to represent an energy firm. An Asian woman’s voice greeted me, saying she was from Opus. Once I began to probe her with some questions, her demeanor shifted; she became anxious and then quite hostile. It was a thoroughly unpleasant experience, to say the least.
