He mentioned that the purpose of his call was to discuss an outstanding bill that I apparently owed. How odd, considering I don’t even have an account with British Gas; my energy services are provided by a different company altogether!

Got a call from 0345 117 0258, they left a message with reference 147091381. The voice sounded foreign and they didnt say the company name or anything. If this was legit, they’d at least say who they were or who to ask for. Feels dodgy to me, so I’d call this number a scam. People should be careful and not just trust calls like this blindly. Could be risky otherwise.

Got a text and an email from these guys, even tho I dont have any gas connection at all.

Got a call from Arvato claiming to be from British Gas, trying to chase payment for a bill I already settled. Feels like a scam, especially given their shady history. They use aggressive tactics, probably just hoping to scare someone into paying up. Tried contacting the bosses, but they just ignore emails. Not sure if they're even FCA registered, but if they are, I doubt it bothers them much.

Pretty sure this was a call from the British Gas debt recovery team - I got a letter from them just a few days before they started the hang-up game, which I caught on record too. Honestly, I doubt Ofgem will be quick to act on something that feels almost like they're being deliberately nasty.

Got a call from ARVATO, they’re debt collectors working for BRITISH GAS. They just ring you then hang up, proper sneaky move. They try to say they kept trying to call, then sneakily tack on fifty quid in fees to make the debt bigger. Just dirty tactics if you ask me.

I got a call from Arvato, who I was told by the operator work with lots of companies, but for me it was British Gas. My gas bill is all over the place coz my partner has been paying it but they didn’t link the payments to the right account, so now it says I owe £2400 like I’ve not paid a thing. It seems like a legit company tho, and I guess till this gets sorted I gotta pay for what I’ve used.
