I put up an ad on Autotrader and then got a call claiming to be from their accounts team saying I’d been billed twice. They asked for my card number and even the security code, which struck me as odd since I never had to give that just to pay for the ad. After ending the call, I contacted my bank straight away and cancelled the card just to be safe. Turns out, only one payment had gone through. Honestly, watch out for this - it’s definitely a scam!

I posted my car on Autotrader hoping to get some genuine inquiries, but then this number rings me up saying my payment didn’t go through and that if I don’t pay, my advert would be taken down. I told them straight away I wasn’t sharing any payment info over the phone and honestly, I didn’t care if they wanted to remove the listing. After that, they just dropped the call.
