4 yearsI recently had a conversation with the debt collection department of HSBC concerning an outstanding balance.HSBC5 yearsI received a rather suspicious call claiming to be from HSBC. At first, they asked for my postcode, which I casually provided. However, when they requested my date of birth, I had to draw the line. I refused to share personal details with an unknown caller. They insisted that this was necessary for verification, but I remained firm and asked if there was any other information they might need instead. Nope, they were fixated on my date of birth, which I was not going to disclose to a stranger over the phone. They went on to suggest I contact the bank using the number printed on my card. When I probed for clarification about whether the call was regarding my application for a specific service, they dodged giving a clear answer, cryptically stating they couldn’t share any information until I confirmed my identity. Completely absurd! To add to my concerns, I received a second call from the same number just a day later, but I opted not to answer this time. They left a voicemail that simply cut off. Given what others have reported, I’m quite curious to see if HSBC has actually tried to reach me-my messages within their online banking platform show no record of any contact from them.HSBC5 yearsI received a call from this number at 8:10 in the morning. I decided to give them a ring back, only to be met with an automated voice informing me that they wouldn't be open until 9am. Quite the inconvenience, to say the least!5 yearsA chap rang me claiming to be from HD+SBC. When I refused to provide my details, he suggested I reach out to HSBC instead.
