I keep getting calls from someone claiming to be from British Gas. They’re always asking to speak to the manager about a contract renewal that’s not even up yet. Then they start threatening to disconnect the electricity! Proper dodgy behaviour.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from British Gas tryin to renew my contract with an amazing offer. I asked him to ring me back the next day so I could mull it over. Later, I called British Gas myself to check if the deal was legit, and they said it definitely wasn’t them. They warned me to watch out as it sounded like a scam.

They tried to say we’d signed up for gas and electricity deals with them, which was total rubbish. We actually get our gas and electricity from different companies anyway.

Got three calls from someone pretending to be with e.on. He managed to speak to one of my colleagues, but she didn’t hand over my phone number. Before hanging up, he gave his number saying it was from e.on and told me to ring him back. So I called him late at night from a phone box, around 9pm, but it just rang and then asked me to leave a message. If this was really e.on, I’d expect their recorded message to say something like “thanks for contacting e.on, our office is now closed, office hours are...” Nope, definitely a scam!

Someone named Jordan called, saying they were from British Gas wanting to renew my contract. When I called the number back, it showed up as Alliance Marketing. The person on the line was quite unfriendly.
