Totally a scam. They first said they worked for Eon and I had to renew my contract. Then they rang back a bit later, pretending to be from BT instead. Same phone number both times. I ended up keeping them on for about 9 minutes and gave them a proper roasting. They talked back just as nasty. No legit company would a) stand for that kind of treatment or b) be so cheeky in return.

Like a few other people mentioned, the call was supposed to be from EON about our electricity deal with them. Problem is, we don’t have EON as our business energy provider! I told her straight away, then asked what she really wanted, but she just went quiet for a long time and then hung up on me.

Like a few others have said, they claimed to be from E.ON and wanted to talk to the manager about the account. They asked if we’d received a letter about renewing the contract. When I asked, they said they were representing E.ON. I said everything was fine and thanked them for calling. Not exactly sure what the scam, if any, is here but it definitely seems dodgy.

Proper odd call. They said my electric contract was ending and I needed to sort it today. When I said I wasn't sure about that, he just said "shut up" and hung up on me!

At first, he told me he was ringing from Eon and had to go through the terms for our new contract. I went with it, but then he said actually he wasn’t from Eon but working for them. I put him on hold, said I’d get the managing director, just to see how long I could keep him waiting. Only lasted about 4 minutes, but that’s 4 minutes he’s not bothering someone else who might be more trusting.

Not a nice bloke at all, definitely not. Kept ringing non-stop claiming I’ve a contract with E.on which is ending soon. Problem is, I haven’t used E.on in ages, like 3 years. He even tried to say it’s for gas, electric AND water! Totally made up.

Got a call from some bloke pretending to be from British Gas, but it was a total con. He took over my phone line so I couldn’t make any calls for nearly an hour. The worst part is he spoke to my daughter, knew she was just a kid, and said some awful things I wouldn’t even want to write here. It’s shocking and really scary. Someone really needs to put a stop to these people.

Some bloke with an Indian accent claimed he was ringing from British Gas saying they supply our gas and electric. I told him that’s not true. He was pretty pushy and rude about it. Eventually he just disconnected. I’ve flagged this as risky since someone who’s vulnerable might easily get caught out by this kind of nonsense.

Got a call from a bloke with a foreign accent, sounded Indian to me. He was all polite, asking "How are you today Ma'am?" then goes on about our electricity contract with EON. I told him we ain't with EON, and suddenly he got cheeky, asking who our supplier is then. I couldn’t help myself, said I didn’t have to tell him anything, and he just hung up. Bit of a letdown, but hey, every minute I waste on them is less time for their scams! Haha!

Its 11.13am and Ive already had four calls today, all saying they're from Eon. Each one was really rude. They’ve been ringing from two different numbers - 0345 501 32451 and 020 7027 3476 - but its the same aggressive story every time, and I reckon it’s the same bloke. I have to admit, the fourth time I played along, gave fake answers and numbers, and with every reply they just asked loads more questions. While I’m writing this, I just got call number five and they actually called me an ignorant w****r!

Got a call for the old owner of this number, from like 3 years back. I wanted their business name to report them for ringing me all the time and to get this number removed from their lists. The person on the phone refused to give it and said they'd keep calling no matter what. Then I got 3 more calls in just 5 minutes! Anyone know how to stop these annoying calls for good?

This guy wasn’t who he claimed to be. I’ve got a password set up on my account, so anyone calling me has to give it first. These sorts of calls are all about tricking you into handing over your info so they can get into your bank. Best thing to do is just hang up, write down the number, and if they call back, don’t even bother answering. They usually give up after a while.

Was called by some bloke who said he was from e-on or whatever, but his English was awful. Seriously, do they honestly expect anyone to buy that? Sadly, there’s always someone who gets tricked. Honestly, they need to put a stop to this nonsense soon.

Has anyone else been getting calls from the number 0345 013 2451? This bloke, who’s apparently with British Gas, keeps ringing me non-stop. I’ve never been this annoyed in my life. He’s been on all my phones, including work ones, asking for my bank info, saying he needs to sort out my British Gas contract. On top of that, he swears a lot and has been rude to the women who work for me. If anyone knows who this is, please tell me - I want to sort this out legally.

Got a call at my day nursery from a man with an Asian accent saying he worked for EON and wanted to switch our energy supplier. Asked for bank details but I wasn’t having it. Then he suddenly claimed he had a kid at the nursery but couldn’t get the birthdate right - gave me three different ones. Changed his address a few times and was quite rude, wouldn’t let me speak to anyone else, saying he was the manager. I ended the call, but he rang back saying he wasn’t done so I cut him off again. Honestly, some poor soul might fall for all that nonsense.

Got calls from some scrawny bloke with an accent, claiming he was from Eon. Proper desperate scammer. He kept ringing me over and over till I finally told him to jog on. Should have been blunt way sooner than the few seconds we were "chatting" and pretending to be mates :)

I reckon it was one of those Energy Brokers pretending to be from E-on just trying their luck. When I refused to play along, he got pretty rude. Marking this number as dangerous because folks who are vulnerable might easily fall for these slags.

This guy says he's from eon, but if you look up eon's number it's totally different from the one that rang me. Definitely looks like a scam to me and the way he acted was just awful. If anyone thinks they're getting scammed by this, please report it straight away for your own safety!

Had a call from someone with an Indian accent who said, "Hello sir, I’m phoning from E-On, your energy company, could I talk to the manager please?" Then they threatened that my "meter was going to be disconnected". I told them you can't just cut off supply here in England, and after that they muttered something I couldn’t catch and then they ended the call.

Got a call where the person asked if I was the owner or a manager, and when I said no, they just ended the call. Bit rude if you ask me.

Got a call from someone pretending to be E-On, saying the energy contract for the business was about to expire. Thing is, we don't even have a business energy deal, and our home energy isn’t through E-On either. Just blocked the number straight away!

I’ve been getting calls from this number non-stop for weeks, kept ignoring them till today I picked up. The guy claimed my electric contract was ending soon, and I told him I’d just renewed it last month. He kept insisting that wasn’t the case, but I stuck to my guns and eventually annoyed him enough that he just hung up. Hopefully, they won’t bother me again. If they do, I might let my kids yell down the phone at him. It’s so annoying when you’re trying to concentrate or get the kids to nod off.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from an energy supplier, but it was definitely a scam since they have no presence here in the UK. These calls really need to be stopped.

So this bloke from Eon started threatening me, saying he'd turn up at my house if I didn't say who provides my energy. Honestly, if you’re from Eon and reading this, feel free to come round - I'll happily sort your face out. Seriously, don’t hand over any info to these lot; they’re total muppets.

Got a call from 03450132451, some bloke claiming he was from EON. When I told him I wasn't with EON, he just shouted all sorts of abuse at me and then slammed the phone down. Proper muppet behaviour for a company like EON, really unprofessional.
