I rang them back and just made up some reference number along with the postcode for Buckingham Palace. When they asked for my name, I told them it was "Charles Windsor". To my surprise, they somehow pulled up my details!!! They said I owed £1,450.78 and if I didn’t pay up today, bailiffs would show up tomorrow. Guess they didn’t twig I was giving them info for King Charles. Ended the call right away.

Looks like they’re using one of those auto dialer things that drops messages straight onto your answerphone. I’ve sent them an email telling them I’ve reported them to the cops for bothering me, but obviously, they haven’t gotten back to me.

Picked up the phone and asked who was calling. They said it was Cabot Financial but refused to provide any details unless I shared my date of birth and address. I asked why they were calling but they wouldn’t say. When I asked what kind of company they were, they dodged the question until I straight up asked if it was a scam, then they said no. Tried to get them to take my number off their list, but they said they couldn’t do that and told me to call back to prove they’re legit. Felt really sketchy, don’t get caught out by this.
