This is a legit 02 number, but watch out cos scammers often fake these numbers to trick you into buying something that looks great but is actually just to steal your money. Never agree to any offers or share your personal info if you get a random call like this.

Got calls from this number three times already - the first time I picked up they said it was O2 about a contract (pretty sure it's an O2 number) but then I said I couldn't chat. They've rung me twice more in the last day but I just ignored those. Don't reckon it's a scam, but can't say for sure.

Sounds like it was O2 or someone linked to them. I’m nearly at the end of my contract so probably a sales pitch. Told them I was busy and couldn’t chat, so just left it there.

Got a missed call on my phone from this number. I’m not with O2 but lately I’ve been getting loads of scam texts and emails. I sent these messages to the number on the ncsc.gov.uk site to report scams - they said to text them on 7726 which I did. I’m with Tesco Mobile, which uses the O2 network, and I got replies from O2 saying they received the info. Then today, I get a call that’s meant to be from O2. Not sure if it’s legit or not, maybe they’re following up. But honestly, why bother calling me when they could just sort out the scam texts instead?

I rang O2 to sort my PAC code so I could switch and cancel my contract. Barely two minutes later, this number called me. I didn’t pick up since I never answer numbers I don’t recognise. No message left either, so I’m guessing they’re trying to tempt me with a new deal. If they could do unlimited texts, calls and data for £20 a month with no contract, I’d probably stick around, but since they can’t, I’ve blocked the number.

Got a call from someone saying they were from 02, wanting to talk to the account holder. I said, “I’m not with 02,” and he just replied “I never said you were.” Which he actually did. So I told him he wanted to speak to the account holder, then he just laughed and hung up. Pretty sure this wasn’t 02, I can’t imagine their staff being that rude and short like that.

Seems like it's either genuine O2 staff or one of their linked sellers trying to get you onto a new deal. They want to buy out your current contract and get you to sign a fresh one. They don’t give up easily. I told them a few times I wasn’t interested and to please stop contacting me. Since I blocked the number, I’ve had about 29 missed calls in the past six months.

Had a call from someone claiming to be O2. I wasn’t quite sure if it was legit O2 or some third party pretending. The bloke was trying to get me to pay off my current contract early and switch to a new one. I've still got around half a year left on a two year deal. Told them I’m not interested and to stop calling, but they just wouldn’t quit. Even after blocking, I got over 20 calls from them. Proper persistent!

I had an phone from Carphone Warehouse which I was paying off monthly through 02, and they offered me a deal where they basically took over my Carphone Warehouse agreement by upgrading me to a 02 phone. So they covered the remaining payments on my iPhone 12 Pro Max and sent me a new device contract for the 13 Pro Max instead. Now I just have a single contract straight with 02, and I get to keep the 12 Pro Max for free. They didn’t ask for any bank details, just sent me a link to their official website to accept the new contract terms.
