Watch out, folks! Got a call claiming to be O2 about some "credit payment" I supposedly owed. Total scam. Don’t fall for it, seriously. Avoid it at all costs! - J. F. from Northumberland

I’m pretty sure this is for O2's official support line, but then again, I suppose scammers might have copied it too.

I saw a £10 top up taken from my account and when I looked back, it had actually been charged 10 times every month! I've contacted my bank about it and hopefully they’ll get it sorted soon.

I told them straight up it was probably a scam and they just ended the call right after.

I've given this number a ring back from my home phone. I was under the impression it would be a free call, but instead, I was hit with a £1.98 charge for just over a minute from NOWTV's anytime calls! This feels quite wrong, as I believed that 0344 numbers were similar to 0300 or 0203, which typically don’t incur charges. What a surprise!

It's quite amusing how 02's pay as you go phone number is listed right there on their "Get in touch" page.

This number is totally fake! I even contacted O2 and they said it’s not one of theirs! I’ve had a couple of calls now, and both times they asked for the 6 digit code from a text they supposedly sent me. Don’t share anything with them, or just mess about and give them a made-up code to annoy them.

Total scam! They asked for info to give me a discount on my O2 account. Told them clearly I don’t want any contact from O2 at all - no emails, calls, texts, or letters. It was a random call and as soon as I said that, they just hung up on me.

Got a dodgy call from someone claiming to be O2. While I was chatting with them, they 'sent' a security code to my phone. They said I could get a 30% cut on my contract for a year plus a free smartwatch. They also had no clue if my phone was a Samsung or an Apple, which made me suspicious right away. Got in touch with O2 afterwards, and they told me it definitely wasn’t them.

Some guy rang saying he was from o2. Told me I’d won some Christmas deal with 30% off for a whole year. Then suddenly changed it to say I’d won AirPods or some sort of wireless charger. He didnt even know what phone I use. Total scammers.

I ignored it since the number wasn’t familiar, and I really doubt it’s a legit O2 caller because I’ve never had any accounts with them!

A bloke with an Asian accent seemed to know the last digits of my number and wanted to chat about my O2 contract. I called him out as a scammer, but he denied it. After a short, civil back and forth, he just hung up.

Got a call from this number tonight saying they were from 02 and that I'd been picked for a 30% discount on my bill. The connection was awful, and the guy sounded super foreign, no security checks or anything - just straight into the 'deal'. I ended the call, but I'm guessing if I'd stayed, they'd have tried to get my bank or personal info.

if you have a pay as you go plan, you can ring the 02 contact number for free from your mobile by dialling 4445. each call will cost 25p. if you are calling from a landline, use 0044 344 809 0222 to reach the 02 contact number. standard UK call rates will apply tho.
