Got a text from somewhere that showed “EPFINANCIAL” instead of a usual number. It mentioned my name, which made me a bit confused after seeing some of the other reviews here. Inside the message there was a web address and a phone number 0344 571 4261. They also asked to reply with “EPFSSTOP” to 88440 to stop messages or something like that.

I received an entirely genuine call from Arvato regarding a debt connected to BT, which appears to have stemmed from someone, either mistakenly or intentionally, using my number when signing up for BT's broadband services. When I received the initial text, I quickly contacted BT since I'm not an actual customer. The first representative I spoke with claimed it was impossible for them to amend the phone number registered. Upon receiving yet another text, I reached out again and spoke to someone who promised that my number had been eradicated from their records and advised me to simply disregard any further messages from BT. I relayed all of this to the woman at Arvato, who was quite understanding and offered her apologies for the mix-up, confirming they would also erase my number from their database. Here’s hoping that’s the end of it!

Got an email telling me to call this number to talk to Arvatof Debt Collection for BT customers. I rang BT and they told me I don't owe anything. After looking up Arvatof, I saw the phone number in the email was nothing like the one on their official site, plus they actually give out two reference numbers for accounts not just one. Definitely looks like a pretty convincing scam trying to trick you into paying up.

They keep ringing and sending messages nonstop. I ended up picking up today without really thinking and they claimed I owed money to BT. I told them that’s not right cause I pay with direct debit. I've discovered that this number belongs to a firm named Arvato. It seems I had a tiny outstanding balance when I switched from BT regarding my home broadband, which they obviously passed on to this company. However, I must say, their attitude leaves much to be desired; they were quite abrupt and even demanded double the original debt amount, which I have yet to settle.

It seems that I received a call from a debt collection firm named "Arvato" using this number, but I couldn’t take the call at the time as I was engrossed in work. The individual on the other end was rather unpleasant and quite overbearing. I found it rather astonishing, considering the sum they were on about was rather trivial for such harshness.

Arvato debt collectors are just awful, they purchase debts, tack on extra charges and then chase you relentlessly. It’s a disgusting business, even tiny debts get handled like a big deal. Feels like legalised bullying to me.
