I just got a call from this number claiming that, as an O2 customer, I’m entitled to a 14% refund on my plan because of some Covid relief scheme. The guy sounded like he wasn’t from the UK, maybe West African. He asked if I could share a 6 digit code that was sent to me by text. Weirdly, I did get a random code from O2 that I didn’t ask for. Shortly after, O2 sent me a FRAUD ALERT saying if I didn’t request the code myself, I mustn’t share it with anyone. The alert also said if anyone rings pretending to be from O2, just hang up and never give them the code.
