There has been a clone website that looks similar to Sky's, but Sky has denied any association with it. Yesterday, I received a call from the number 03442411653 claiming to be from Sky. The caller informed me that if I had an appointment scheduled, I should press 1, otherwise press 2. Unfortunately, without much thought, I pressed 1 because we indeed had an upcoming appointment. They quickly thanked me and ended the call. I got four calls from this number and every time I asked who it was, they refused to say, even though my TRUECALL app flagged them. I rang SKY because I knew I had an engineer coming soon, but they hadn’t called me with any reminder. After checking with SKY they told me it wasn’t their number, so it’s definitely a scam. Watch out, they try to get you to press a button that costs 60p a minute, pretending to be a telecoms firm and asking for your bank details, claiming they’ll sort you a better deal. Next thing you know, your account is cleared out.

I'm absolutely fed up with seeing this specific number on my phone bill, which I have to pay for, due to my broadband package with the Post Office. Despite being a paying customer, the Post Office refuses to trace this number for me and has suggested that I look it up myself on Google! It doesn't seem fair that I, as a customer, should be responsible for tracking down the origin of this number. Instead, the Post Office should rely on their own engineers to locate and identify the company behind it, ultimately blocking the number.

This call incurred a charge of £3.25, despite the fact that calls to this number are supposed to be free for SkyTalk customers, but not for Sky TV customers.
