I got a letter from Parcel Force about a customs parcel I was waiting for from the US, and this number’s on it. It’s not the same number that Parcel Force lists online for their Hatfield branch. When I checked the Parcel Force website to see the fees, they matched the ones in the letter with the number 03442096171. But this number is flagged as a scam, which makes me think scammers have somehow got their hands on info about actual parcels from inside the delivery company.

It wasnt a scam at all, it was Parcelforce. A mate in the US sent me something but I had to cough up £22.03. I called the automated customer service number I found on their website, not the one on the letter, just to be sure. They let me pay by card, I put in the 17 digit number from the letter and they confirmed the payment, my postcode and gave me a delivery date. A few things from Ebay and Amazon come from overseas, so dont write off your parcel without checking first!

My package got held up by Parcel Force and they sent me a letter saying I have to pay £21 plus tax because it’s coming from abroad. I’m not sure if it’s a scam or if someone’s somehow intercepting mail and holding it for ransom until you pay. It’s all very confusing. Is this really Parcel Force or has someone hacked into their system at the sorting centre? The phone number on the letter matches this one. Honestly, it’s really frustrating and a bit worrying as well.

Building on what I said earlier, I mentioned it to a mate who reckoned he’d sent us a gift from Germany. He expected the suppliers or delivery company to charge extra VAT if it was missing. The phone number at the top of the letter - 0344 209 6171 - is real and it even shows up on the ParcelForce site. If you’re unsure, give your local depot a ring or pop in and ask, but I have a feeling quite a few people here might’ve missed out on legit parcels!

Being a Warehouse Manager, I contacted my mate at Parcel Force to double-check and it turns out this is a pretty clever con using legit-looking reference numbers. Definitely don’t fall for it!!

Had a call supposedly about a package from Germany, asking me to pay £74.50 - same as what others have said here except for that one person who believed it was legit! I looked up Inverness local office number and it was close but not quite the same as what they gave me. No one answered, just got a scam message pretending to be from Parcelforce saying this was their sort of sorting centre in London. It’s quite a sneaky trick because the tracking code looks real when you check it on Parcelforce’s site, showing the parcel moving all the way from Moscow to London. They were asking for £56.53. Since we weren’t waiting on any parcel, especially not anything pricey from Moscow, we just ignored it and didn’t bother chasing it up.

Definitely a scam here, got a letter from Parcel Force Worldwide asking for £27.95 for a parcel supposedly coming from Germany. Didn’t bother paying, just looked up the number online and turns out it’s a total rip-off. Best to just ignore these letters. My brother in law, who’s quite elderly, got this letter claiming he owed money for a parcel he had no clue about. The note said it was from Parcel Force and warned he wouldn’t receive his overseas package unless he paid up. Thankfully, he isn’t easily fooled and hasn’t handed over any cash. It’s clear they want his card info - definitely a scam.
