I received a call claiming to be from BT regarding a broadband security concern. They insisted it was a line issue with them, yet I sensed something was off. They attempted to get me to provide my router details, but I chose to cut the conversation short and revealed nothing about my internet service or equipment. After about five minutes, I dialled the number again, only to find it was deemed unrecognised. I reached out to my actual provider, who confirmed that other customers had reported similar experiences and advised me to immediately disconnect. I subsequently received another call from a number with a similar pattern, trying to sell me some phone and broadband bundle, claiming to represent Ofgem. It's worth noting that Ofgem doesn't engage in such sales, so I swiftly hung up again.
