@waldi: Ah, the FritzBox is doing its job splendidly. However, when one gets those utterly infuriating calls on their mobile, it's about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike. And to add insult to injury, I've been bombarded with a new number nearly every single day - I can't be bothered with that nonsense anymore! I've gone so far as to cancel my mobile contract. I'm not about to fork out fifteen quid a month just to keep the peace from these persistent nuisances!

Ich hatte ebenfalls einen ziemlich merkwürdigen Anruf. Irgendwas mit einem Namen wie Diwin oder so. Die Dame behauptete, ich hätte an einem Gewinnspiel teilgenommen und eine Reise gewonnen. Es wäre alles sehr legitim. Ich sollte lediglich zwischen der Türkei und Ägypten wählen. Sie las mir sogar meine Adresse vor und wollte dann meine Bankdaten zur Bestätigung. Ich dachte mir, was für ein Unsinn! Wer würde denn bei einem Gewinnspiel seine Kontonummer herausgeben? Da habe ich einfach aufgelegt.

Es ist wirklich erstaunlich, dass diese Nummer sich auch an Sonntagen regelmäßig meldet, und zwar stets zu ähnlichen Zeiten, meist rund um die volle Stunde. Sie ist im schönen Erkner verzeichnet, irgendwo im Osten des Landes. Anscheinend wird diese Nummer für allerlei Werbeaktionen und Gewinnspiele genutzt, und viele empfinden sie als eher suspekt oder dubios.

It’s likely some sort of automated dialling system. We’ve noticed that the calls tend to come through consistently at four seconds apart. This number has been ringing us a fair bit lately.
