At my workplace, we just got a phone call from someone claiming to be from National Grid. They said there was some maintenance happening nearby and wanted to know which firm supplies our gas. I asked why they wouldn’t just notify the suppliers directly, but they insisted they had our meter number and would contact them themselves. They asked me for a callback number, and I was given 08000 418 372. Both this number and the original call seem like dodgy attempts to get our meter and supplier information.

I didnt get to say anything, they just stayed quiet and listened. But in the background, I swear I heard another voice or maybe something from the telly.

Somebody rang up saying they were from British Gas, talking about our bill, but it felt off. Doesn't seem quite right to me.
