Some dodgy firm trying to rip people off with fake boiler cover. Absolutely not worth trusting!

I got tricked into handing over more than £300 for a white goods insurance thing they said was legit. They kept saying they'd pay me back, but I’m done waiting now...

She was really trying to persuade me to give my bank info, saying I could get a discount on my boiler insurance. I just said straight away that this was exactly what she was asking for. Told her I’d been in banking for over two decades and wasn’t about to be taken for a mug.

How can they call me when I’m on the TPS list? If this is a proper company, it makes you wonder why they’re ringing up older folks like that. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

Had a ring from someone named Amy about renewing my 'appliance' insurance. I asked her when I'd last paid for it and she said it was three years ago. Problem is, I bought brand new appliances about four years back and they come with at least a five-year warranty, so I didn’t bother with any additional insurance.

My mother-in-law decided to get an insurance policy through them for her washing machine and cooker, paying £15.99 each month. They offer up to £3,000 in claims within a 12-month period. Should I be worried about this arrangement?

I got a call from a woman named Lorraine Morse who gave me her direct work number, 01273977398, in case I needed further details. It was about some household appliances insurance, maybe linked to a company called UK services or something like that. They rang me from 01133308706 and said paperwork would arrive within three days. However, the manager never got back to me as they said they would. I'm located in Bucks, and this happened around 12th May '22.

#SCAM# Today my elderly mum got a call saying her appliance insurance was about to run out. They kept pushing her, almost bullying her, until she gave them her bank info. They demanded 500 quid upfront and then wanted another 500 later. Luckily, we rang the bank straight away and cancelled her card.

Some bloke rang up insisting he was from Domestic and General and was pushing to get £495 from me to keep an appliance policy going. Since I was dealing on behalf of a lady who already got tricked out of her money by these lot, I knew they were up to no good. I told him to send all the details in writing before I could even think about what to do next with this dodgy caller.

Got a call from someone named Nathan about my home appliances, saying something about renewing policies and bits about the TV renewal. So, the caller said they were from an appliance insurance firm and even had my card info and address. I’ve fallen for scams before, so I told them I wouldn’t renew unless they posted me the paperwork first. They kept on pushing and were really persistent about it.

Just a heads up for anyone seeing this - you’ve probably been duped. This outfit rings up elderly folks pretending to be from domestic and general. They actually seem to get a kick out of conning people and then laughing about it on the internet. Avoid them at all costs!

My elderly family members got a call out of the blue from some outfit called Service Plan UK. These guys kept ringing off and on for nearly 3 hours, pushing them hard to get some white goods insurance they really didn’t want or need. They kept claiming a link to Domestic & General, which seemed off. Turns out, this company only popped up in Feb 2021, barely has anything online, and their owner is tied up with about 15 other firms that have all gone bust. It left my family really upset and anxious. Definitely a dodgy cold call scam!

Someone called claiming to be Alex from UK Service Plan. Like others mentioned before, they said they wanted to renew a policy for home appliances. They said since I hadn’t made any claims, they’d add my TV at no extra cost. They mentioned a price sounding like "five nine five", which I assumed was £5.95 monthly, as they talked about setting up a direct debit. But after checking here and on Trustpilot, I figured they probably meant £595! No way I have that amount sitting around! Anyway, I’ve already alerted my bank about it.

Just got a call from this number earlier today, not really sure if it’s one of those dodgy scam calls or legit?
