The Planning Guide is actually put together by the Planning Department for North Lincs Council, not the Building Control team. That’s why Building Control wouldn’t recognise this company at all. Maybe do a bit more research before leaving inaccurate remarks.

got a call from someone saying they were with ipswich borough council planning, but they were actually trying to push advertising on us. just a heads up, ipswich borough council isn’t connected to them at all. real council numbers all begin with 01473. this was just another fake caller! watch out!

Got a text saying it was from the planning department at Breckland Council. Just to mention, we're already signed up with the telephone preference service.

Got a text supposed to be from Breckland Council's planning office. It's annoying since we're on the telephone preference list already.

They make guides for councils all over the UK! You can have a look at their site www.planningguide.co.uk
I’m actually in the Charnwood council handbook that's available on their website here: http://www.charnwood.gov.uk/pages/planning_and_regeneration

Look for the green guide that says 'view the latest planning guide'!

Absolutely dreadful experience, definitely not a proper council service at all. Wouldn’t recommend going near it.

Got a sales pitch call out the blue today. I tried being polite and told the caller I wasn’t interested, and before I knew it, they just cut me off! Honestly, no reason to be that disrespectful. I answered when they rang me, gave them a chance, and this is how they respond. They’re exactly why people hate these kinds of calls. Proper annoying!

Planning Guides have been around for years and collaborate with lots of councils and regions across the UK. Before posting any incorrect info, you might want to check their website yourself. They've been working alongside local councils for nearly 20 years now. For example, I just visited North Lincolnshire Council’s site and easily found their online page here: http://www.planningguide.co.uk/northlincs/. Nowadays, info on pretty much any company is easy to find online, so maybe do a bit of research before leaving negative comments. Took me about twenty mins to figure out they're trustworthy.

Got a call on me mobile from someone claiming to be from North Lincs Council, but it was total rubbish! Since I have some contact with the council’s building control, I checked straight away and they knew nothing about it. They tried to get me to pay around £460 for advertising my biz! Watch out, I also got a similar call from Fylde in Lancashire saying the same story. Best to just block them or avoid picking up. Definitely a con.

I didn't pick up when they called, so I rang them back. After a bit of waiting, I was connected to the right team and had a chat about what they were offering. I told them no since I'm planning to slow things down now, but they were really polite and even wished me the best for my retirement, which I appreciated.

Hey Anon, I recently subscribed to one of the Planning Guides that they put out for Cornwall Council. Because they were so approachable and I’ve actually seen good results from my ad, I kinda feel like I should stick up for them here. Really solid company with lovely people working there, and yes, they do create publications specifically for councils. Cheers, Mr TK Ward (St Ives)

I got a voicemail this morning, 16th Oct, from someone saying she was Maureen from the Vale Council's planning team. They said they were trying to reach me about something, left it on my answerphone.

I told them to take me off their call list but they just wouldnt stop phoning. They claim they’re calling “for your local council” but that’s a load of rubbish - they’re actually some sort of advertising and publishing business.
