They pretended to be from some official pension review service. After they called me a whopping six times in just two weeks, I made it very clear that I’ve had enough and I’m reporting them to Trading Standards, the police, Ofcom, and the financial services watchdog. Like others have said, this bloke was pretty polite and claimed he got my info from the pensions office. I told him if I had a pension, they’d have sent me letters in the post, not call out of the blue. I’m fed up with these callers saying, “I’m not trying to sell you anything,” when you know they’re up to something. Never give away your name or admit you’ve got any kind of plan. This company is NOT regulated by the FCA (and is NOT the FCA listed business trading as thepensionreviewservice[###] based in Durham) but a total scam with no official oversight. DO NOT engage with them. They rang me on my mobile, already knew my name, and said it wasn’t a sales call, but then immediately began quizzing me about my pension details! When I asked if they were a private firm or a government agency, they just ended the call. Watch out for these fraudsters!
