I told them straight I wasn’t interested in their prediabetic prevention session, but they keep ringing me up loads during the day. Tried to opt out, but no luck, still getting calls nonstop.

You only get a call from the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme if your doctor sent your details over because your blood test showed high sugar levels. If your GP hasn’t done that, they shouldn’t have your info.

It seemed like a legit call, but they got a bit pushy when I asked why they hadn’t reached out earlier, especially since the results came in mid November. Honestly, getting just one point above the “risk” limit feels a bit over the top. I think I’ll hold off and see how the next few results pan out....

I’m part of the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme, so this number is completely legit. If you weren’t expecting a call, it’s probably because your GP has sent us a referral. We might not leave a voicemail if your voicemail settings don’t allow it, as the info comes directly from your GP and we have to follow strict rules. We ask for your date of birth and address to comply with data protection and GDPR regulations. If you get a call from us, please give us a ring back or check out the website preventing-diabetes.co.uk.

I'm part of the NHS's initiative aimed at diabetes prevention, and I can confirm that this number is legitimate. We're reaching out following a referral from your GP. Your details have been provided to us by your doctor, and we're only able to leave a voicemail if you've explicitly allowed that; otherwise, we're unable to do so. If you happen to receive a call from us, please don't hesitate to ring us back or check out preventing-diabetes.co.uk for more information.

I received a call from the number 03335 773010, and intriguingly, they addressed me by my actual name. My husband picked up the phone, and the caller requested to speak with me, mentioning that I had lodged a complaint. They indicated they would give me another ring shortly.

The person claimed to be calling from a diabetic prevention service. When I asked for some proof, she refused to give her last name. Yet, she wanted me to confirm my birth date. I didn’t share it and asked what info they held about me, but she said data protection rules stopped her from telling me. I pointed out it was an unsolicited call, and she kindly said she’d send a letter instead. To be fair, it probably was a genuine NHS call, but you have to be cautious these days.

Someone rang me on my mobile and already knew my name, asking for my date of birth which I didn’t want to give out. Her English wasn’t great, so I thought she mentioned something about nhs virus prevention, but after reading others’ comments it might have been about diabetes prevention. I declined to share my DOB as I suspected it might be a scam. She then asked if I’d prefer to receive an email and I said yes, but I didn’t give her my email. It probably was legit since I’d used an online diabetes tool recently, but with the way she spoke and in these times, it felt very dodgy.

this number belongs to ics health and wellbeing. we’ve been getting loads of calls from them the past month but no one said anything when we picked up. today my husband finally spoke to someone who said his blood glucose levels were abnormal and he might be close to being diabetic. they asked him to book an appointment with them. since he just had a recent check-up at the GP and his sugar levels were fine, we’ve reached out to the doctors to check what ics is saying.
