At approximately 9:45 in the evening, I received a call on my landline. The caller was seeking a person by name. When I inquired further, they claimed to be from City Home Emergency. However, a quick search online indicates that this number may be associated with scammers.

I've been inundated with missed calls from this number lately. The most recent time, I finally picked up, but the gentleman on the line was drowned out by so much background racket that I couldn't decipher a word. I ended up telling him it was the wrong number and just hung up. Ever since that call, my pay-as-you-go mobile, which received the call, has been acting up and is no longer functioning! I absolutely detest these pesky nuisance calls!

They keep ringing me up claiming to be from some Survey company called "beneficial", but I can't find any info about them anywhere. It's really stressing me out, so I just blocked the number now. It's a Wangiri scam as well - if you call back, no one picks up and you get hit with a £20 charge even if you hang up straight away. Definitely block this number straight away!

I told them I wasn’t interested but they kept calling. These call centres really need to be taken to court. My phone alert goes off every time I block them, which gets just as annoying as the call itself. I’ve had to switch the alerts off now. They’ve called me 20 times in just ten days. It’s proper harassment. The ICO really ought to sort this out.

It was Scottish Power ringing me up. I told them I’m fully aware of how to switch suppliers online if I wanted, and no offer they made would sway me. I asked them to remove me from their calling list so neither of us waste time. They said they would, but I’m not too convinced. Watch out, both Scottish Power and EON had to quit cold calling and doorstep selling a few years back because of some dodgy stuff. I’ve heard EON might be starting phone cold calls again soon. The number will be different, but still… be cautious.

I use a Samsung phone and when you block someone it still shows up in your call history that they tried to call you! I looked at the log for one number and it turns out they were calling me EVERY DAY. There are loads of numbers like this and honestly the only way to stop it is to block them all. I think companies must be selling your data because that's the only way they can keep contacting you like this.
