Just had a rather unpleasant encounter with a debt recovery agency called Lowell. Quite frustrating, to say the least!

I've just got a rather formal-looking letter from British Gas claiming that I owe them £439 from the period of 25th April 2015 to 28th August 2016. They've handed the debt over to Lowell Debt Agency, and even provided an account number for me to call about it. The strange part is, this account is actually in my wife's name, and all payments are made via Direct Debit!
