SCAM ALERT Definitely a fake company that managed to con my 76-year-old uncle out of £195 on 17/08/2024. They apparently began tricking folks like this about six years back. It's crazy nothing’s been done to stop them yet.

They keep ringing my mum non stop, now they're even texting her. Do not pick up or respond to these people, it’s a total SCAM.

Hey mate, if you’re the one that got conned, definitely give Utility Cover Ltd a bell on 01226290167. These scam artists seem to be linked up, and honestly, they don’t even hide it. If you can, smash a report through to Action Fraud cause they know what’s going on already!

I got a call from some lot claiming to be an insurance firm but it was all fake. They were really rude during the chat too, felt quite dodgy!

I got totally ripped off by these lot. I was convinced it was some cheap insurance for my stuff, so I signed up. Now, they’ve gone and charged me another £195 from my bank, and to make matters worse, my washing machine has packed up. Tried to contact them but no luck at all. Honestly, I’m lost here. Can anyone advise what I should do?

This caller was from a sham firm called Utility Cover Ltd, definitely not legit.

My mum, who has mixed dementia, has been getting calls from these people. I have no clue what's been talked about or what they've tried, but I’m certain it’s something to do with money!! Anyone saying they're genuine, let me tell you, no proper company would ever ring up and ask for bank details on the phone. Especially when it’s clear the person they're calling isn’t mentally sound. These lot are nothing but brazen scammers, plain and simple!!

This morning I got a call from a woman claiming I had a bill to pay for a call blocking service on my home phone, saying I'd supposedly agreed to a two-year deal. She asked for my bank info but I told her I'd already got a blocker set up elsewhere. After that, I just hung up and blocked the number.

I got a call from a 0333 number, which I found out are often used as cheaper versions of 08 numbers. These can be from literally anywhere in the UK, so I wouldn’t trust them at all. Feels like a total scam to me!

Beware, I wouldn’t trust them. They try to get your bank info by promising cheaper prices. It’s definitely a scam.

This number has rung me a few times, always trying to get me to share my bank info. Once, I slipped up and told them which bank I use, and now they seem to recall it every time they call. The last time they got in touch, they said a scheduled payment was missing, which confused me since I never set one up. So honestly, that didn’t really shock me at all.

I got a call from Domestic Assets saying my kitchen appliances insurance was up for renewal and they had some "great news" about a price drop. They asked me to verify my appliances and then give them my bank info. I didn’t fall for it because I was pretty sure it was a scam. Plus, I never had any cover with them in the first place.

My missus got a call about cutting costs on her appliance cover, but then they went off asking for her bank deets. Thankfully, she didn’t hand them over. Totally dodgy call, definitely a scam!

I reckon this must be one of those new scams, thought it was Domestic & General at first.

I was stuck on the phone with someone trying to scam me, and they seriously thought I was some old geezer - I’m only 25! They kept going on about how I should be a role model for youngsters because of how “old” I sounded. The guy kept begging, "Just name one good thing about yourself, mate." Turns out, he was fishing for my bank details to set up a direct debit, supposedly for some insurance on my telly. Absolutely daft!

Yeah, they really tried to make it seem like they were my current insurance company giving me a discount. But they were kinda vague when I mentioned which stuff I had insured, and that made me feel a bit iffy. Then they asked for my sort code and bank details, which threw me right off - I mean, why would they need that if they're already my insurer? So I ended the call pretty sharpish after that.

This number rang me up as well. They brought up my Bosch gadget, then asked if the washing machine was the only thing covered by the warranty. Thing is, my washing machine's actually a Hotpoint!

My mother-in-law got a call about cutting costs on her appliance cover, but then they straight up asked for her bank info. She was smart enough not to share it. This kind of thing really needs to be cracked down on.

Honestly, I don’t understand why some folks think this company is dodgy. When they rang me early March, they were really courteous. I decided to go with them because it was obvious I’d save some cash. From the very start of our chat, they told me exactly who they were - nothing sneaky about it. The paperwork arrived just a couple of days after the call, and all the details were crystal clear. Then, my washing machine packed up on Monday the 16th April, and by now, just two days later, a technician has come and sorted it out. I’m genuinely impressed with how smooth the whole thing went. Big thanks! Can’t believe people who don’t pay attention think there’s something fishy going on! Really don’t get it.

Scam alert! Got a call from this firm claiming they were from my appliance insurance provider, trying to sell me a cheaper deal. But I’m well aware of who actually covers my stuff, so their little trick didn’t fool me at all.

My grandma got a call from some firm trying to offer her a cheaper appliance cover deal. They acted like they were from the same company she already uses, asking her to set up a new direct debit. Later on, she had another call from them, which they said would happen to check everything was alright. It wasn’t until this second call she noticed the company was actually called Domestic Assist, not Domestic General like her current provider. Honestly, it felt really dodgy. Plus, I couldn’t find any website or contact info for Domestic Assist anywhere online... would definitely avoid them if I were you!
