I got a call from a bloke called Sean who said he was from House Utopia, chatting about my solar panels and claiming they’d helped me before, which was rubbish. This wasn’t the first time these lot had been botherin’ me either. I struggled to keep calm and told him firmly not to ring me again before I hung up.

Got a call from some woman claiming to be from House Utopia. She said a mate of hers had given her my details after chatting to me recently, which is totally not true. She mentioned my old address and said I owned the place. I told her I don’t live there anymore, and she was like “oh” and just ended the call. Proper strange! Blocked her straight away.

A pushy lady called me insisting I needed an inspection at home for some new "L" building regulations compliance, saying it would be free now but £52 if I delayed till next year. She made it sound like an upgrade to the EPC certificate that every house already has. I checked with the council and they confirmed it was bogus. She seemed pretty desperate to get inside my place. Now that I'm certain it's a scam, I’ll just ignore her number if it calls again.

Went through the comments and gotta say, I had the exact same call about free government grants and some certificate every home supposedly needs. Shortly afterwards, a different guy rang - probably the surveyor - and sounded a bit surprised when I mentioned what the first chap said. Both sounded like they were calling from a busy call centre due to all the background noise. I decided not to carry on with the chat.
