Just like everyone else mentioned - a caller from BRITISH GAS ringing about better tariffs. They said from 1st Feb prices are going up, and they have the “best deal” as follows. I questioned it and they insisted I was wrong, saying rates won’t drop. Their figures were DAY RATE 34.661, NIGHT RATE 15.13, STANDING CHARGE 52.974. When I checked mine, it’s 31.24, 21.70 and 54.34 respectively. Is it worth switching? Honestly, despite them seeming competitive, probably not as my contract is fixed. They’ll ring back Friday for my final say.

A guy who said his name was Evan rang me on this number a couple days ago. He claimed to be from British Gas, but before he could start his usual dodgy spiel, I hit him with the issues my husband and I have been dealing with, hoping to get some answers. Got a call claiming to be British Gas, sounded dodgy to me. Watch out, could be a scam.

Got a call that was actually from British Gas, trying to offer me a better energy plan, so this one was proper legit! (Might be that other calls I've had were spoofed.) Turned out their deal wasn’t any better than the one I’ve got with Octopus anyway.

It was an actual call from British Gas trying to offer a better energy plan, so this time it was for real! (although other calls mightve been fakes). In the end, their deal wasnt any better than what I get from Octopus.

They was pretending to be from British Gas... They knew quite a bit but just one thing made me stop talking to them. They said I didn’t have an account with them! Then I figured out it was a scam.
