I’ve just received a call from a number that purported to be from a pension provider. It’s rather irritating, to say the least!

My dad and I have a phone connection with BT purely for convenience, seeing as we get our broadband through them. What baffles me is that we’ve registered as ex-directory, so how on earth does this number keep getting through to us? We’ve never picked up, yet every time we dial 1471, this same pesky number - 03334432667 - pops up yet again! It really is quite infuriating!

The phone keeps ringing throughout the day, but whenever I pick it up, there’s nothing on the other end. It just goes silent. Quite peculiar, I must say!

They're forever ringing me and it's becoming quite the bother.

I’ve just finished a call and I’m absolutely inundated with the usual barrage of cold callers today! I was anticipating some legit call-backs, which is why I answered. It’s genuinely infuriating! It seems that both national and local governments are giving the green light to call centres, making us endure this nonsense. What’s the reasoning behind us having to tolerate all this? They like to label it as "job creation!"

For the time being, I'm going to disregard this number altogether. I keep missing the calls, and I initially thought it might be about a critical update regarding my husband’s imminent surgery. He’s currently on a waiting list, hoping for an opening due to a cancellation. I’ve registered with the TPS, but honestly, what’s the use? The call-blocking features are brilliant until they malfunction, and ours has been blocking everyone indiscriminately. I truly appreciate everyone who shares their experiences; it really helps us decide which calls are worth picking up and which to let slide. Cheers, Fifer1949.

Bothers me daily, calling twice a day. It's quite the nuisance!

I've been calling every single day for the last month, but as soon as the answering machine kicks in, I hang up straight away.

In the UK at the moment, I received a call from a company claiming to provide "complimentary" insight on mortgages and pension schemes. When I mentioned that I was registered with the Telephone Preference Service, the chap insisted that his firm wasn’t bound by those rules because he wasn’t directly peddling anything. He argued incessantly, refusing to concede even a smidgeon of what I was saying. Clearly, he had way too much free time, and the conversation only ceased when I finally hung up on him. A quick look-up with 1471 showed the number as 03334432667.
