8 yearsI just received a call from Team4Appliances promoting a warranty for washing machines, and it definitely had the vibe of an Indian call centre. I'm quite suspicious about it and think it might be a scam!Team4Appliances10 yearsTotally a scam, watch out. They refuse to cancel and ask for even more info to "keep their files up to date," like your full name, address, and even bank account details. Don’t hand over anything to them.10 yearsHad a call from someone saying they were from 'TV Guard' about cutting down the cost of my TV insurance. She even knew my address and my partner's name, which was a bit creepy. She kept throwing out loads of reference numbers. When I brought up the telephone preference service, she just ended the call straight away.AlishaTV Guard10 yearsGot a call from this number earlier, handed the phone to my support worker and he just ended the call straight away. Quite odd really.10 yearsDidn’t catch his name but the bloke seemed pretty slick. Best steer clear of him.10 yearsGot a call saying they were from my insurance company, trying to switch me to a deal that dropped my monthly fee from £9 to £6. Something felt off though, so I just ended the call straight away. Pretty sure it wasn’t legit.10 yearsI nearly got caught out by this one - sounded proper legit until the washing machine broke down and I needed a repairman. They said their firm, TEAM4APPLIANCE, had taken over my insurance and even offered to cut the cost. Then they asked me to stop my current standing order and start a new one to their account. Definitely a dodgy scam!TEAM4APPLIANCE10 yearsWhat a complete con! It's shocking how easily they could pull the wool over someone's eyes until you need a repair on your washing machine. They were so believable, it was quite unnerving. They mentioned they could lower the insurance because their firm, TEAM4APPLIANCE, had supposedly taken over the policy. But when they couldn't even tell me the model of my machine (a Miele, no less), it raised my suspicions. They claimed its new value was around £500, but in reality, it’s worth £800, and we don't have any insurance-just a ten-year guarantee because it's a Miele, after all. The caller insisted I should ‘cancel my standing order’ and create a new payment to their account instead. When they probed me about my bank details and I mentioned my bank, they then wanted to confirm the first four digits of my card. I told them, “I can’t access that info right now.” That’s when they started getting a bit hazy, probably because their script didn't account for me not having my card details on hand. It was evident they were trying to fish for sensitive information. Cheers, Ian, for alerting folks about this on 02.19.2016 at 07:01!TEAM4APPLIANCEIan10 yearsI got a call from Team4appliance too. They said my insurance dropped from 9 quid to 6, which sounded good, but what really freaked me out was they already had the first four digits of one of my cards - the one I barely use and only for withdrawing cash. I can't figure out how they got hold of that info!Team4appliance10 yearsI’ve just had a rather dubious phone call that raised all the alarm bells for me. It was truly alarming how convincing the caller was. They were representing a company called TEAM4APPLIANCE, claiming they were now handling the insurance for my washing machine. However, they couldn’t even tell me what make it was, and as any Miele owner will know, that’s a bit of a red flag. They estimated its value at around £500, while in reality, it’s worth about £800. Now, to clarify, I don’t actually have any insurance-just a solid ten-year guarantee, as you do with a Miele. The chap on the phone then proceeded to suggest that I 'cancel my standing order' and set up a new payment to their account. Curious, I mentioned which bank I’m with, and that’s when things got a bit fishy. They then proceeded to ask for the first four digits of my card, which, of course, are universally identifiable with any card from my bank. When I declined, saying, "I can't access my card details right now," their tone shifted towards vagueness quite rapidly. It seems they had a script ready to extract sensitive information but were thrown off course when I didn’t have what they wanted. It’s a classic case of a scam-don’t fall for it, folks!TEAM4APPLIANCEMiele10 yearsGot a call from someone saying I was paying £9 a month for washing machine cover. They had my full name and where I live. Definitely a scam.10 yearsSome guy called Brian, offering washing machine insurance at a 'lower' price. I told him straight up, we’re not interested!BrianPolitely10 yearsGot a call this morning from Michelle, who spoke with quite a strong Asian accent. She said she could slash my monthly bill down to £6, which sounded alright at first. But then she didn’t know what sort of machine I was using, which made me wary, so I refused to share my card info. She was really pushy, kept pressing me for details. I asked her to send the offer in writing and she just hung up on me. Tried looking up the company online afterwards but couldn’t find anything. Seems like a total scam to me.Michelle10 yearsGot a call from a bloke called James, sounded like he had an Indian accent. He kept going on about my washing machine cover being cancelled and said he could do me a deal - £3 less a month - if I got a new machine in case the old one couldn’t be sorted. Asked for my bank info to set up the direct debit and said they’d send some new paperwork. Told him to send the details over first and I'd think about it, but definitely wasn’t giving out my bank details on the phone. He was pretty pushy, so I just ended the call.James10 yearsJust like everyone else said, they mentioned sending a letter but when I wouldn’t give them any more info, the bloke just dropped the call. The guy said his name was James Henry and gave an extension number, 307 I think. He told me their address was Team 4 Appliance, 44-50 Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, Dorset. I checked it out on Google Maps and it looks like a block of flats, not a business at all.James HenryTeam 4 ApplianceChristchurch RoadBournemouthDorset10 yearsBeware of this one, total scam! They ring up saying you’re paying your maintenance through an agency but could get it cheaper by dealing with them directly. I don’t have any contracts like that, so I knew right away it was dodgy. Then they ask for your bank info to set up a direct debit. That’s when I just ended the call. They also give you another number to contact if something goes wrong with your machine - 0333 3704467. The first call came from 0203 817446, but don’t be fooled by that - they definitely sounded like they were calling from India. Really dodgy stuff.India10 yearsSo, I got a call from Megan earlier about a special offer on washing machine insurance for people in our postcode. She was saying it’s just £6 instead of the usual £9. I told her I’d prefer to get the info in the post so I could have a proper look. But she said that wasn’t possible and I had to sign up right away. The number showed on my phone was 0203817446, but she told me to ring 03333704467, extension 306 if I wanted to. I reckon from her accent she was probably calling from India.MeganIndia10 yearsReceived a call earlier that appeared to be from this number, with the caller urging me to respond by dialling a different number. It turned out to be a rather aggressive service agreement con. They had my name and address, which made it even more dubious, and they were pressing for my banking information. I've seen comments on other platforms that indicate the caller might have used a completely different number altogether. Quite the shady operation, if you ask me!10 yearsGot a call like this earlier today from a bloke who was really insistent. Even after I told him I didn’t remember signing up for any deal, he still had my name and where I live. I didn’t give him anything else. Then he asked for my bank details, and I told him straight up I wasn’t comfortable talking about money on the phone and he could send me something in the post if needed. He wouldn’t agree to that without more info though, so I just ended the call. They were chatting about £9 being dropped to £6 on a contract I don’t even have!10 yearsI got a call from 0203817446 saying something about appliance repairs, calling themselves team4appliance. They actually had my name and old postcode, which was weird, and hinted I had some kind of electrical contract with them. Like others have said, there was a noticeable pause before the guy spoke, which immediately made me think this was a scam, probably from abroad. I've already registered on the no cold calling list, so it's really frustrating that this company somehow got hold of my details.11 yearsGot a call from a guy today who somehow knew my full name and where I live. He said he was ringing from team4appliance and that they’d taken over the insurance for electrical stuff, claiming our payments would drop from £9 to £6 (we already have cover with another firm and pay less than that!). He wanted to post us a letter and get us to sign a new contract. When we said no, he got quite pushy. The number he gave was 0333 3704467 but on my phone it showed as 0203 817 466. Be careful with this one!Team4Appliance11 yearsSame here with Team 4 Appliance, couldn’t agree more with what others have said.Team 4 Appliances11 yearsGot the exact same call today, feels like they’re really pushing hard lately. It’s quite creepy how much they seem to already know about me. When I checked my caller ID, the number showing was 0203 817 446.11 yearsHad to cut the call short once I told them I wasn’t insured.11 yearsJust had a call today (04/02/2016) and the person sounded like they had loads of info - my name, address, the lot. He kept asking me to verify it but I told him I never signed up for any appliance insurance. Then he just suddenly ended the call.11 yearsJust like me, I reckon it’s a load of rubbish. They act like they’ve got loads of details about you, but it’s all dodgy.11 yearsI got a call from someone who said he was Sam representing team4appliances. He told me I supposedly had a service agreement for electrical stuff with them, and that the fee was being cut down from £9 to £6 a month starting next week. He pressured me to sign up for this new arrangement, but when I told him I never had any contract with them, he just ended the call. The odd thing is, he already had my address and phone number and kept trying to dig for additional info.SamSubmit Your Own Report (0333 370 4467)
