Had a ring from this number the other day, and some Indian lady claimed she was from BT Openreach. She mentioned BT were planning to do some sort of upgrade on the local exchange. She kicked off by asking about the equipment we’ve got and how many extensions are on our system.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Openreach, but it felt dodgy like they were trying to fish out info about my phone setup. I didn’t want to share anything, so I just ended the call.

This call was a total scam. I work in IT management and it was clear the woman on the other end couldn’t handle the questions I asked her. Honestly, don’t try to trick me!

Got a call from someone saying they were with Openreach about upcoming work on the local exchange. They asked me to confirm my number and postcode, then oddly started asking how many phones we have at home. When I questioned why they needed that info and said surely BT would provide it since they’re partners, they then asked if we’d installed a new phone system in the last few years. It all felt a bit dodgy, like they were fishing for personal details to use for marketing or something.

a woman called but she spoke so quietly i couldn’t catch everything she said - basically, she mentioned some upcoming work on the phone lines and needed to ask a few things to reduce any trouble. i told her ‘sorry, i’m struggling to hear you clearly’ and then she just hung up. sounded pretty legit to me but i figured she’d have made more of an effort to repeat herself!
