It appeared that he was familiar with one of my past surnames. He proceeded to list a handful of well-known insurance firms-most likely in the hope that I'd identify one I’m currently involved with. Then he confidently asserted that I must surely have a life insurance policy set up, but he wanted to chat about whether my coverage still suited my needs. Utter nonsense, if you ask me. I gathered he was likely a scammer, so I swiftly terminated the call and ensured the number was blocked.
