A bloke named Harry or Harrison gave me a bell sayin there was good news. I got proper excited and was dashing round me flat, till he said the "good news" was our meters might turn into smart meters. Honestly, I felt proper gutted and since then I haven't seen me family in like three months. I'm starving and could really do with some grub and a drink.

All I caught was 'So Energy' and my own name. I told them I only talk through email. When I rang So Energy myself, their customer service was just as confusing. I've told them loads of times I don’t want a smart meter, so if that was the reason for their call, I’m not sure why they haven’t listened.

I emailed so energy about getting a smart meter and they rang me from this number to arrange it. Seems like some folks have their own ideas about these meters and say it’s a con. Best to decide for yourself really.

03333447140. I found a £17.75 fee on my Virgin bill saying I spoke to this number for 146 minutes. I didn’t make that call and had no idea who this was. I got in touch with Virgin and they claimed the call came from my landline. That can’t be right, so I rang the number myself. A man answered, said he was James from So Energy, but hung up straight away when I explained why I was calling.

Bit puzzled by all the comments here, got a guy ring me claiming to be from So Energy. I asked him to confirm by giving me the end digits of my account number which he did, so I felt alright trusting him. We sorted everything out on the call and the engineer came yesterday, everything went fine. Seems like some folks are a bit too suspicious these days. Still, do what feels right to you.

11:30 am, 20th Feb 2023 Got a call from a guy with an Aussie accent claiming to be from SO Energy, offering a Smartmeter for my house. I said, “No cheers.” Then he asked, “Why not?” I just said, “Nah, I’m not interested.” He laughed and said, “Alright mate, thanks for your time” before hanging up. How on earth did he know I’m already with SO Energy? Is this how they get inside your home now?

They then launched into a spiel about all the supposed perks and benefits of the smart meter, but I kept saying I didn’t want it, thanks. After a while, the person got annoyed and just hung up on me. Feels like it was either a total scam or some third-party company just trying to drum up business for smart meter installs. I highly doubt it was actually from So Energy or any legit energy supplier, to be honest.
