Yesterday, an individual contacted my elderly mother inquiring about the insurance warranty for our washing machine. He introduced himself as Alan Matthews and stated he was representing Home Appliances. Given that he requested her banking information, I took the precaution of blocking his number for her. It’s quite concerning how some people attempt to exploit the kindness of the elderly like that!

I've had an excellent experience with a household appliance service here in the UK. I reached out to them regarding my washing machine, and they dispatched an engineer the very next day. He managed to sort everything out on the spot. Such prompt and efficient service! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Absolutely splendid service from this firm! My freezer caved in during the lockdown, and I was pleasantly surprised when they dispatched a replacement within just three days. Couldn’t be more chuffed! 😊

My mother has an insurance policy for her household gadgets, and they just delivered a brand new washing machine. The service provided was absolutely top-notch; the staff went above and beyond to assist her. Truly, I couldn't fault them at all! A solid 10 out of 10!

I'm absolutely appalled by a recent scam that targeted my elderly father-in-law. It’s revolting! He has had £99 swindled from him in the Leeds vicinity. What a shameful act!

I had a rather unsettling phone call from a lady identifying herself as Ashley, who claimed she was reaching out to update my insurance policy due to a supposed recent claim I made on a washing machine. However, it was quite baffling since I never lodged any such claim about a washing machine! She proceeded to ask for my banking card details, but I wisely declined to provide any information and told her to ring me back later since I didn’t have it readily available. It's now been a good couple of hours, and I've heard nothing more from her. Clearly, it's just another scam attempt.

I recently discovered that my mum, who is living with Alzheimer's, has had £149 taken from her account for some insurance on a fridge freezer and a washing machine. The odd thing is that she doesn't even own a washing machine!

Appliance cover? — they seemed rather eager to take my money over the phone with no documents provided. Although they promised to send me some paperwork, it never arrived. After doing some research on this site, it became clear to me that I’d fallen victim to a scam.

What a charade! A rather impolite chap named Joseph had the audacity to try and pry my 80-year-old mother's card information from her. When I jumped in to put a stop to it, he had the nerve to call us a waste of his precious time before slamming the phone down. Unbelievable behaviour!
