Claim they’re from Pure Planet but refuse to answer any proper questions, dodgy non-UK call centre for sure just after my card info. Told them to send me a letter with a full statement of what they reckon I owe and a proper invoice with bank details but apparently they only accept card payments over the phone. No chance am I falling for that! Could be a scam, they’ve rung me at least 40 times already, had to block their number.

I keep gettin loads of calls, like 3 or 4 a day, from Maclaren Credit Services about some unpaid bill for Pure Planet. Thing is, I been with Pure Planet at all. The folks who lived in my house before me back in 2020 were with them, so I'm pretty sure any debt is theirs (they even left without tellin HMRC or anyone!). When I moved in, I went with a different energy company. I’ve blocked their number now but still see calls and silent voicemails poppin up.

Got calls from McLaren credit services ltd, connected to signa green ltd, over an energy bill supposedly from 3 years back. Thing is, ive been with my current energy supplier for like 8 years now. They keep phoning 3 or 4 times daily but refuse to send anything in the post or email cause they say they dont have my contact details. Its really annoying.

Then I got another text from a different number saying, "hello we need to talk about your account with our client Pure Planet". But I’ve never had anything to do with Pure Planet! Mclaren won’t give me any info over the phone or email, they just want me to verify my details first.

I’m in a bit of a pickle with these energy debt collectors who are hounding me over old debts since that energy provider went under. It’s rather frustrating, to be honest. They’ve been relentless, trying to chase me down without even acknowledging that these debts are ancient history-they simply want to confirm my identity and address so they can carry on with their relentless pursuit. The administrators seem oblivious to the one-year rule concerning aged debts, which feels incredibly unfair. I’m seriously considering taking this to court, as they refuse to engage in any meaningful conversation regarding the age of the debt. It’s almost laughable how the energy ombudsman is utterly useless in this situation because, well, the energy company is defunct. And don't even get me started on the Citizens Advice Bureau; they’re more interested in discussing debt management than actually helping. If you provide them with your name and address, it’s like giving them the green light to come after you for cash that goes straight into the administrators' pockets for pursuing these old debts. My advice? Just don’t respond!
