Someone called claiming to be from Gladstone Brookes and wanted my personal details supposedly for data protection. Got three calls in just a couple of hours and I rang up BT for help. They just told me to either get a phone with a block feature or change my phone number, no real support at all. Somebody rang claiming to be from Gladstone Brookes. Luckily, I knew my business with them was all wrapped up. They kept telling me my bank needed to pay me back for some mis-sold PPI, but that was dealt with ages ago. I somehow knew they’d want my bank details if I kept talking. When I asked what the call was about, they quickly said sorry and hung up.

Got a call on my phone that I didn’t pick up but it was in my call history.

I got a call from this number saying my internet was about to be cut off because of some illegal stuff, like someone was trying to hack into my connection. They then told me to grab my phone and started telling me to go to the App Store to download some app that would supposedly protect my internet from being accessed by others. I didn’t trust it, so I ended the call and rang my provider straight away. They told me it was definitely a scam!

Got a call from 03333445089 where the caller was asking loads of questions. In the background, there was loud banging like some construction work, plus I heard another voice quietly telling the caller what to say next. Honestly felt pretty naff, like I’d been duped somehow. I’ve reported it both to the police and my phone provider for them to look into. The caller gave a name but I’m sure it wasn’t genuine. Luckily, I record all my calls and have sent the recording off to the authorities and my network.
