Got a robotic voicemail saying there’s some urgent issue with a HMRC criminal probe I needed to sort out. Wouldn’t bother ringing back - just block this number straight away and don’t engage with them at all.

hiya everyone, just got a missed call from this number earlier. then, a bit later, i got a text saying i had a voicemail. when i checked it, the start of the message was cut off, so i couldn’t tell who left it. i caught enough to realise it was some recorded warning about a criminal case against me. since i’ve never heard of anything like that before, it was obvious it was some kind of scam. i’d recommend adding the number to your phone as “scam” and blocking it straight away. that’s what i did anyway. cheers, steve
