Got a annoying call from a lady with an American accent. They gave me two choices: press 1 to confirm if this was the right number, or 2 to make them stop calling. When I tried 2, some American bloke’s voice said my number was already removed from their list.

The only thing I can think of is that someone at a company I’ve bought stuff from might be passing on our details to these scammers. This is the sixth scam number I’ve reported, and they all sound pretty much the same.

I keep getting calls from these jokers using loads of different numbers, like 5 or 6, hoping I’ll answer. They’re cold calling to push energy deals. I usually just hang up or play some loud music down the line. I’m ex-directory and even told them to stop, but it’s no use. Instead of just ending the call, try putting your phone by the radio or even pop it in a drawer and leave it for about ten minutes. The person calling won’t be able to ring you back on the same number for at least five minutes ‘cause of the automatic disconnect. Eventually, they catch on pretty quick!

I got a call from this number the other day. When I answered, an old gentleman asked if I was the occupant of Flat 4, which I confirmed. Then he mentioned something about a mix-up and just hung up. It got me thinking - how did he know I lived in Flat 4? Surely he wasn't just guessing. It's strange to ring up and ask if you’re Flat 4 like that, especially when I am. Seems to me he knew I was here but wasn’t expecting me to pick up. Makes you wonder what their game is, whoever this bloke or group might be. I've also registered with the TPS, so I won’t be picking up if this number calls again.

Today I got a call from this number and the bloke claimed he was calling on behalf of the Home Energy Advisory Service. It was clear he was just reading from a script. Every time I ask who’s calling, the person just hangs up straight away. Makes me wonder if they’re trying to see whether someone’s home. When I called the number back, I got an automated voice for a firm named Morris IML LTD - or maybe Norris IML LTD, I couldn’t quite catch it. Of course, I couldn’t find any real company by that name on Google, 192, or BT directories. Feels pretty dodgy to me.

So this bloke rings me up calling me Rudolph, which I thought was hilarious, and I joked back saying thanks but no thanks, Santa. Told him to stop ringing, and he actually said I was being rude and that he’d keep calling me every day. Now every time he rings, I answer with a ‘Hello Santa!’ I reckon if everyone did that, it might brighten up their day a bit too. Could do with more laughs like that :-)
