This is just a call from Domestic & General's call centre, doing the typical routine to persuade you to buy extra cover on a household product you got with a one-year warranty that's nearly up. I find these calls really annoying, and I’m sure many others do too. The frustrating thing is that the shop you bought the item from shares your info with them. They ought to ask you when you purchase if it’s okay to pass your personal data to another company. Next time you buy something from these places, maybe ask them not to share your details, yeah?

This number is from Domestic & General insurance. They keep ringing me up about an extended warranty on my cooker, even after I said I’m not interested. Now I’ve blocked them on my phone, so hopefully they’ll stop pestering me for good!

A bloke with a northern accent said he was from Domestic and General and seemed to know loads about my current repair cover, like he’d already got my info. My mobile signal’s awful so I asked him to call me back on my landline, but of course he never did. The same number had called yesterday but I missed it. The number’s really close to the official Domestic and General one, so it’s easy to mistake it for legit. Something similar happened a few years ago, when they were trying to sell me a new (cheaper) insurance deal on another appliance or a renewal if I paid straight away...

Got a call claiming to be from Domestic & General, pushing insurance for my Hoover vacuum. They said it was a one-day-only offer, and I had to sign up straight away over the phone - no info sent by email. I hung up straight away. But weirdly, six days later, I got a legit email from them with all the details, links, and reviews. Seems to me that call was some sort of scam trying to nab bank info. BEWARE.

Called me twice in one day claiming I owe money they want to collect. First time I told them my daughter had recently died and asked them not to ring me again. Then, only six hours later, the same guy called back with the same story.
