dodgy call from some scammer claiming to be about vat Just got a weird phone call about cancelling my VAT registration. They said they got a request to stop it, but I never asked for anything like that. They told me to ring them back straight away on 0333 339 3547 if it wasnt me. Seemed like a proper scam to me, trying to get me to panic or give info. I ignored it, but thought I'd warn others to be careful if they get a similar call bugging them about their vat stuff!

Had the same thing happen to me. Got a message claiming to be from HSBC about a supposed Airbnb reservation for £538.64. They told me to ring a number if I hadn’t made the booking. I phoned HSBC directly and they said it wasn’t from them. What annoyed me was they didn’t seem bothered about the scam or want any info about it, which I found quite worrying.
