Got an email supposedly from Nationwide saying they’d set up a new direct debit on my account. They asked me to ring them if it wasn’t right. Definitely seemed dodgy to me, so I didn’t bother calling. Totally a scam.

Got a message from this number claiming to be Barclays. I told 'Daniel' to give me a ring back, and he replied with a quick 'no worries' before hanging up. Pretty sure it’s a total scam.

If you come across scam emails, it’s best to send them to '[email protected]'. Personally, I find their guidance clearer and more helpful than the police’s Action Fraud site. Besides sending suspicious emails to NCSC for their review, you can also report phishing through your email client using the 3 dots menu in the top right. From what I’ve gathered, this mostly just marks the sender address as junk globally.

I just got a dodgy text claiming to be from Barclays, but I know it’s a scam since I’ve never had a Barclays account! The message said something about adding a new G00GLE wallet to my account and to call 0333 339 6991 if I didn’t do it. Totally fishy!

Got a text alert from Barclay's about some transaction linked to Selfridges they spotted. Thought it was odd, so I replied to their number to check. Hopefully it's nothing dodgy.

My mum and dad, who are quite old, got an email that looked like it was from Nationwide. It claimed a dental clinic had started a direct debit on their account. Turns out, the email was from a dodgy address ending in @sheltercluster.org. Total scam, just spam!
