I got a text saying a direct debit was set for a Barclays account, but I don’t even have one with them. The message included this number to call if I needed to sort it out. Definitely felt like a banking scam to me.

Got an email saying it’s from the Santander Team about setting up a direct debit for some dentist in Yorkshire. They provided this phone number to ring. The sender’s email was [email protected] - definitely a scam!

Got a dodgy text saying: "NATWEST: Enter code 456466 to confirm transfer of £349.99 to SARAH M0RT0N. Not your transaction? Ring 0333 339 4893". I’ve never even had an account with NatWest and definitely don’t know this SARAH M0RT0N (that’s zero, not the letter O). Seems like a scam to me.

Got an email from someone claiming to be the ‘Santander Team,’ but the email address looked nothing like one from Santander. It said a direct debit for £390 was set up to Yorkshire Dental Suite in Leeds. The strange thing is, I don’t even have an account with Santander and I don’t live anywhere near Leeds! I've reported the email as suspicious.

Got two texts from this number super close to each other, like within 5 mins, both saying: "SANTANDER: There was an attempt to use your card at SHEIN for 499 which got declined" I didn't open them, just went ahead and deleted both and marked as spam. Pretty dodgy if you ask me!

Getting rid of scam emails is pretty straightforward. I usually just send them over to '[email protected]' and then report them using the phishing report option you find by clicking the three dots in the top right corner of the email. Helps keep these annoying scams away!

Just like many folks here have mentioned, it's totally a scam. They claimed to be Santander and told me that SHEIN was trying to charge me £499, then asked me to call them back. Definitely dodgy behaviour.

I got a text saying it was from Santander, saying I’d spent £500 at John Lewis. I don’t even have an account with them! Obviously a scam trying to get money out of me.
