Got a message saying there was a failed payment of £122.42 at Sainsbury's petrol station, and they asked me to ring this number if I hadn’t made the purchase. I thought it sounded dodgy and after checking other replies here, it looks like a scam. Cheers for the heads up!

A few posts down, like 4 or so, there’s a great write-up about what steps to take if your bank contacts you out of the blue. It also explains how to flag scam calls and texts through the proper channels like police and Ofcom. Got a call from someone claiming to be Santander, said there was a problem with a purchase at the Apple Store and told me to ring them back on that number. Definitely sounded like a scam.

These scammers pretending to be from Santander sound like a couple of young blokes from London. They keep ringing up and if you tell them how rubbish they are, they lose it and start shouting about having loads of cash right there. Then you can just ask them about that fake £50,000 they claim to have :)
