Got a call yesterday from a number that looked almost the same but missed it. Today I decided to call back and ask who exactly was trying to reach me, cause real callers always say their name and where they’re from. They claimed to be from housing about some damp issue. I told her straight that I didn’t believe a word and ended the call. The whole thing felt off, like the pauses in their replies weren’t natural at all. I’m convinced it’s some kind of new scam, probably meant to trick older folks who might not know about this clever kind of con.

Definitely a scam call. They pretended to be from a housing group or something but the voice was weird, like a robot or some recorded message. I got a call from a number I didn’t recognise right at 5pm, but I didn’t pick up. They never left a voicemail or anything. Afterwards, I got a message saying something like, “You missed a call from me at 17:01 01 Aug.This is a free Call Alert from O2. To disable this dial 901, press *, then option 5 and option 5.” The text had some weird mistakes, like no space after “Aug.” and missing commas, plus calling themselves “me” - all signs that it’s probably some spam thing.

Got a call earlier today (1st Aug 2023) from a voice that sounded like it might be AI, saying they could assist with a housing problem I supposedly have... pretty sure it was a scam so I just ended it and blocked the number straight away.
